We got a new nephew and cousin. Little Kai Fletcher Tanner was born on April 4th. He is Matt and Camille's fourth boy and just so sweet and precious.
Little Kai was born with some hearing problems...a lot of unknowns still with how much hearing he will actually have but he is definitely loved by a lot of people and our family has been grateful to be able to really focus our prayers toward Kai and his family and see the blessings that result from a lot of people praying and fasting for a specific person or purpose.
I got this picture from our ward Facebook page. Brynn's class re-enacted the story of Nephi journeying in the wilderness and going back to get the plates. She came home knowing every little detail of the story. She has such amazing teachers...they are way better than we ever were when we were teaching that class!

Ivy being cheesy in the car. Photo cred most likely to Molly.
Brynn and Corbin had been playing outside one day when Brynn came in and asked for some peanuts for her and Corbin. I said sure but then she really started to act suspicious. I said to put the peanuts in a bowl and take it out and she insisted that they only needed three each. After some more probing I discovered that they had caught a mouse and were wanting to feed it peanuts (because Corbin had heard that mice like peanuts). They had put in in a small cooler and Corbin was sure he had a new pet. Sadly, the mouse got out in the garage and they were never able to find it again.
Afternoon pajama party for these girls. Brynn set up the beds and lent Ivy one of her nightgowns. I love that Ivy is getting old enough now to play with the kids.
Stockton made a list of what he might want for his birthday. Yes, it's two months early but I guess he really wanted to make sure I knew what he wanted.
We were able to be in Plain City one night when Abby was performing a solo number at a dance competition. She was even wearing one of my old costumes that my mom kept. Molly, Ivy, and I went to cheer her on. She did so well and got first place in her age division! Ivy was so silly in the bleachers. She kept holding her leg up and saying, "Look at me! I dancing!"
Soccer season for Molly started. This team came out and started playing so much better than last fall. I was really quite surprised at the improvement they made over the winter. Their passing, their ability to play in their positions, their competence at making plays has really been so much fun to watch. But I could watch a soccer game any day of the week. I was so proud of Molly to come out and score two goals in their very first game!
I had a bit of a mix-up with one of Molly's game. I saw that the location was Bonneville Jr. High and I assumed it was in Ogden close to Bonneville High School but I never actually double checked the address. Since it was close to my parents they were planning on being at the game that Saturday morning. It also happened that I did not have a car since our Pilot was in the shop getting fixed and wasn't done as fast and they had expected and Justin needed the truck for a scout overnighter. So my mom drove up to pick us all up and the plan was to sleep at their house and then we'd all go to the game and Justin would pick us up later that afternoon. Well, Bonneville Jr. High is actually in Cottonwood Heights. Oops. My mom and dad were so good though and took it all in stride. They drove us down to Molly's game early that morning and afterwards we walked around Wheeler Farm for an hour.
Justin was getting too many bobbleheads and had to expand the shelf in our bedroom. He was already up there installing a fan for our bathroom so made a second story shelf while he was there. Good thing we have this spot in our room for him to keep his "dolls." When Molly was little she called them "daddies." One of the kids' favorite things is to help Justin dust them. Stockton is lucky enough to get to keep a few in his room as decoration.
Friday night is always movie night. They take turns picking the movie.
Ivy is starting to climb everything. One night while I was making dinner she was upstairs playing in the loft with Brynn and Stockton. I wasn't there to see what happened but the story is that she climbed up on our toy cubbies and then fell off and landed on a plastic storage bin. This is the result.
Here is what Ivy looked like two days later. It was luckily just a surface wound and it cleared up quickly.
Brynn is not one to be left out. She'll never shy away from the camera.
