Labor Day--
We had so much fun last Labor Day so we decided to go with the same activity. Real simple too: as soon as the kids got up we made a quick stop at Macey's for donuts, bananas, and chocolate milk then headed to North Park. We just let the kids play for about an hour and then head home. Easy and fun! The kids love it there and the park is usually empty so we get it all to ourselves for the morning.
(That facial expression was not posed.)
We went swimming with Justin's family that night. This is Evie and Brynn playing in the splash pad. Evie is nearly 10 months younger than Brynn. She is a cute chunk.
Soccer--
Oh, how I've waited for this day! I was really excited for Molly to start soccer, and she finally became old enough! She played on Wednesday and Friday nights and I just had so much fun watching her. It took her four or five games to get the hang of it but after that she did really well! She scored in nearly all of her games after that-sometimes even more than one goal! She just needed to understand that being aggressive doesn't mean that she has to be mean. She's already looking forward to playing in the spring.
Planes, Trains, and Automobiles--
This was just a car show at the airport in SF. It was on Saturday so I requested a date with Stockton. We had a good couple of hours together. As you can see, he wanted to ride in the stroller, even though he's totally old enough to walk. We walked around and saw cars, airplanes, rode a little train, and watched some airplanes take off. He finally decided to get out of the stroller long enough to sit in a firetruck, an Army Jeep, and a helicopter.
Making brownies--
Brynn made a mess with some powdered sugar.
And licking the bowl is always the best...especially when it's chocolate!!
School Walk-a-thon/Carnival--
I think Molly ended up with 19 laps around the track. Or something like that. She also got to have a scone and play in the bounce houses. And she saw all her friends from school. She loves anything and everything to do with school.
Burraston Ponds (in Mona)--
Justin had heard about this place from some friends and I had been complaining about how we had not gone fishing all summer. So on the very last Saturday in September we headed there to see if we'd have any luck. Right before heading home, we did have luck! Molly, actually. She caught this little fish all by herself. She was very proud of herself.
Stockton and Brynn didn't do much fishing, but they found other ways to amuse themselves. Like climbing big rocks.
Cute kids, just before heading home. They are happy anytime we can spend some good, quality time in the out-of-doors.

Such fun times! Molly is growing so fast and looks like she's going to be quite the soccer player. Love those moments!
ReplyDeleteI love all the family activities. You guys are always doing fun things together. I love Molly's bangs and her fashion show even more :)
