Brynn turned 15 on Saturday, March 7, 2026. We started her birthday on Friday, the 6th. I had an early birthday present waiting for her when she got home from school...a fondue pot. She loves dipping fruit in chocolate and was wanting to use it for her party that night.
Once the kids get to certain age (middle school maybe but not sure?), we don't really do parties but they have friends over to "hang out". It's pretty much a party but there's no theme and I don't plan any party games. So Brynn had her birthday hang out/party the night before her birthday with her best cheer friends. They spend a lot of time together so it's a good thing they like each other!

They had pizza, chocolate fondue with fruit and other treats, played Hello Neighbor all around the house, Brynn opened presents, and they watched cheer videos. I pretty much stayed up in my room all night. Ivy had her friend, Ali, over and they did their own thing but also joined the older girls a little too.

(When asked what Hello Neighbor was, Brynn told me that you hunt for hidden items around the house while others hunt for you. And it all happens in the complete dark. They played it at her party last year as well.)
For her birthday breakfast Saturday morning, she wanted crepes with fruit, buttermilk syrup, and whipped cream. I was happy it was Saturday and I didn't have to get up super early to make her breakfast!
Justin and I had a baptism that morning and when we got home, she was all ready to open her presents. She is not too old to want a scavenger hunt. She got her three requested treats (nerd gummy clusters, chewy sweet-tarts, and Dr. Pepper), a new dresser for her room, and some money for a room re-do. (Justin is doing new paint and trim so the money is for decorations when that is all done.) She also got some body wash from Ivy, and don't forget about the fondue pot. She got way more than she thought she was getting, since all she wants is her room to be done.
Her birthday lunch was pork quesadillas from Costa Vida!
Brynn was a good sport and went to Ivy's clogging competition that afternoon. She had already had her party and the other option for her that night would have been to stay home by herself. We let her pick where we got dinner and she chose Inn 'N Out, like the rest of the Utah County that night! (It was so, so crowded). Then she and Ivy did the tent sleepover that night as well.
We did her birthday dinner on Sunday. Her only request was twice-baked potatoes so I made those, along with some pork tenderloin, homemade biscuits, and caesar salad. The sun was out and it was a balmy high-50's day and Brynn insisted on eating outside. I will admit that it did feel wonderful. Justin bundled up in several layers because he thought it was freezing haha.
Gene and April and Brett came up that evening. They gave her some gifts: her birthday doll, a hug-able sloth which is also a heating pad, and some lotion/skincare stuff. Her "cake" that night was chocolate fondue with fruit, marshmallows, graham crackers, brownie bites, and cinnamon bears.
They stayed a little longer and we did a taste testing from one of their "universal yums" boxes, snacks and treats from Italy. You take a sample and give it a score between 1 & 10. We've done it with them before and it's pretty fun.
That was the end of Brynn's celebrating. My mom had already taken her shopping but they did come up later in the month and gave her the cutest makeup bag (can never have enough of those!) and a Tree Hut mini kit that she wanted.
