Ivy has a zest for life. She finds excitement in so many different things and I love that about her. I need to channel that attitude better instead of getting bogged down with all the "things". We sure love our feisty, independent caboose.
At Ivy's well-check, she was 44 inches (5%) and 45 pounds (24%). So she is short. Pretty sure she is shorter than Molly was at the same age. She is not too many inches (or pounds) behind Brynn though. They can share a lot of clothes and I usually just pass straight to Ivy rather than putting clothes in storage.
It has been so fun to watch Ivy's world open up in the last year as she has become a super strong reader. She loves to read and write. She loves to make notes for people. She loves to make crafts. She also still loves to listen to audiobooks-sometimes to the point that I can't get her to do anything else.
She loves to sleep with as many stuffed animals on her bed as she can. She still has a kisses routine with me at bedtime that is so sweet. She is a good sleeper.
Ivy is a very independent soul. She rarely asks for help with anything. She is determined and has enough drive to follow things through. I think this a great trait and hopefully one I can nurture so it can serve her well in her life.
Ivy has really enjoyed school. She has some fun friends and loves her teacher, Mrs. Call. She looks forward to going to her "specials" everyday: art, PE, music, library.
She still hates getting her hair combed and has a super sensitive head.
She loves her friends at school and still plays with Raylie almost everyday after school. Brynn is her best friend but also the person she fights with the most and the best.
Ivy is taking her tap class and really enjoys that but she is still in the stage where she is wanting to try different things. I would love for her to take clogging because she's really pretty good at tap but she wants to do gymnastics next. I'm not sure that will be her thing but I'll sign her up anyway and let her give it a go. I'm also planning on finding her a piano teacher for the fall. She knows a little from the Hoffman Academy videos that she does every once in a while but I'd like to get her started in earnest and I know from experience that I won't be able to be the teacher she needs if she really wants to learn.
Ivy prefers to stay in the pajamas all day if possible. She almost always wears a nightgown. She also hasn't completely outgrown her princess dress-ups, which is good because we have plenty!
