Brynn was baptized March 30, 2019. It was a day we were all excited about. I have decided that these days are my favorite days. I love the chance to be reminded what is most important. It is a blessing to watch my kids take spiritual steps in their lives.
There was no one else in our ward who was being baptized on this day so Brynn got to plan the whole program on her own, with some helpful suggestions from me. She picked "When I Am Baptized" and "I Am a Child of God" for the opening and closing songs. Grandma April played the piano and Tiana lead the music. Aunt Heidi said the opening prayer and Tessa said the closing prayer. Molly and Stockton did the talk on baptism and Grandpa Moyes gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. For a musical number, Brynn invited all her siblings and cousins to sing "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" with her. I played the piano for that. Justin baptized and confirmed her. Both her grandpa's were witnesses. In the confirmation circle there was Justin, Gene, Brett, Eric, my dad, Christopher, Jeff, and Bishop Brad Allen. It was a beautiful program and full of the Spirit. When the bishop stood up to say some closing remarks, he said that the spirit had impressed on him that we were in the presence of some great matriarchs and he asked both Grandma April and Grandma Kay to share their testimonies and that was a very special part of the day. I was so grateful for my eternal family and for our families that came to support us.
| Brynn looked so sweet and she was practically glowing with excitement and happiness. |
| I did her hair in a crown braid because she was so nervous that she would have to get baptized twice. She didn't. I was happy the hair-do stayed in all day. We'll definitely be doing that again because it looked adorable on her. Also, the jumpsuit had to be rolled a few times-that is something I'd like to remember. |

After the program, everyone gathered at our house for lunch. The cousins played and everyone visited. Brynn was given some gifts...a picture of Christ from Gene and April, new scriptures from my parents, some scripture stickers from Brett, a necklace from the Walker's, and a bracelet from the Broadbent's. The Brown's also sent a bracelet from Seattle and the Tanner's sent a necklace from Atlanta. She is loved by so many people.
She was so excited to finally get her own scriptures. We spent some time that afternoon putting the stickers in them and she got started right away reading from Genesis. I told her she might want to start from the Book of Mormon, but she said she would prefer to start from the very beginning.
We spent the rest of the day relaxing and that felt great as well. There was an extra peaceful feeling in our home and I was happy to be there with my family. It couldn't have been a more perfect day.
