I was needing to get Ivy in for her 2-year-old pictures so I decided it was time to get that done. Since I was already hiring a photographer, I decided to take Stockton along and get some pictures for his baptism. The photographer recommended going to downtown Provo where we could use the temple, the flowers, and then some older buildings around that area. I think they turned out great and am happy to have these keepsake photos!
A few things about Ivy at this age (2 1/2 years old):
-She is very stubborn and wants to do everything, and I mean evvvverything by herself. She is very independent.

-Loves popsicles-she has learned how to open the freezer, get an otter pop, find the scissors, and cut the top open

-Still naps for me everyday (yay!)

-Is still in a crib (double yay!)

-Still takes binkies for naps and bedtime

-Talks non-stop. Has a huge vocabulary.
-The other day Stockton put on his John Stockton jersey and put Ivy in his Jr. Jazz jersey. They came up to me and Stockton said, "Look, Mom, I'm John Stockton!" And Ivy said, "Look, Mom, I'm John Ivy!" I got a good laugh out of that.

-Is starting to get girly...loves nightgowns, princess dress-ups, getting her fingernails painted, curlers in her hair, Brynn's play make-up, and when she wears a skirt she calls it her tu-tu.

-Loves being "twinners" with Brynn

-She can be so feisty. One minute she wants to play and snuggle and hold your hand and the next minute she's telling you to "stop it" or even hitting you. When Justin tells her no, she will hold her hand up to him and say, "Stop talking to me, dad!"
-Likes to make up songs about whatever is going on around her or whatever she sees. It is so cute, but don't let her know that you are listening because then she will stop. "Mom and Dad, will you please stop listening?"

-I haven't started any potty training but she is excited to get some new underwear that I've been promising her. She tells me as soon as she pees in her diaper and has started to want to sit on the toilet. I am not going to push her into it but will encourage baby steps toward no more diapers.
She is exhausting and fun and makes our family so much better!
My mom offered to buy Stockton a suit for his baptism. I wasn't sure he would want one but he said he did so we went to pick one out. He knew exactly what he wanted and turned down the first two that the sales guy showed him. He wanted the black suit with the tiny white pinstripes. And a red tie.
I will post more about his birthday, his baptism, and a little bit about him later. For now I'll post these pictures of my handsome boy. He's growing up so fast!

Those are amazing pictures. And Ivy's John Ivy comment cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteIvy sounds like a funny child! Sometimes the ones that keep us on our toes are our favorites, right?!?
