Thanksgiving 2015

We did our Thankful Tree again.  Next year I'm for sure buying a leaf punch because it was kind of a pain to cut all the leaves.
When I took the leaves down I made sure to type what all the kids were thankful for in my phone.  Then my phone broke a couple of weeks ago and I lost all those notes.  Bummer, because they really came up with some good/hilarious ones this year.  I did take a picture of one of my favorite thankful leafs this year, by Stockton.
Thanksgiving was at the Goodrich's this year.  We got up and got there as early as we could so we could spend the whole day playing.  The pre-feast was almost as good as the actual feast.  Pumpkin chocolate chip bread, veggie tray, fruit, greek feta dip, cheese ball...yum!

Mmm, Thanksgiving Dinner.  I love a traditional dinner and it was soooo good.

We played the "what" game during dinner-if you said "what" you had to give one of your clips to the person who caught you saying it.

Also funny was that halfway through dinner we looked around and laughed at the seating arrangements.  Somehow the three in-laws (me, Matt, and Heidi) ended up at the very end of the table with most all of the younger kids!
After dinner we played Pie in the Face.  April got it new just for Thanksgiving and the kids had a fun time watching everyone get whipped cream in the face.
We also watched "Inside Out" and then had pie.  10 different flavors to choose from!
Justin was able to take the Friday after Thanksgiving off so we drove up to the cabin to get a Christmas tree. Usually on our off years my mom and dad just get us one but our move to Heber made us an hour closer to the cabin so we decided we could do it this year.  The layout of our home made it so we could get a taller tree-we found one just under the limit.
It looks a little ridiculous in the back of my dad's truck.
Because it was so tall, my dad ended up putting it in his snowmobile trailer and driving it to Heber later on in the week.

I spent half my time in the car with these three crazies and Ivy.

We had to get a picture of everyone before we headed back to the cabin.
The Broadbents, Grandpa and Grandma, the Walker's, the Goodrich's, and the Moyes's
That night after dinner, we decorated gingerbread houses.
Then Grandma handed out the Christmas jammies, books, and ornaments.  Grandma made all the older kids' pajama pants.

When we woke up on Saturday it was snowing and blowing pretty hard so we all decided to stick around until it was done storming.  The kids absolutely wanted to stay and play in the snow!

Some stayed out longer than others.  It seems like the big bucket of perler beads come out every time we're at the cabin.  The kids have made some fun creations!

When all of them came in cold and wet we set up a picnic in the basement and they watched Home Alone.

Brynn @ 18 months

Yes, you read that right.  Brynn is 18 months old!!  She is so fun to have around the house and I haven't done a post devoted just to her for a while, so I thought it was about time. -She loves books!  She was never really that interested until sometime in the past couple months and now she can't get enough.  Sacrament meeting went from impossible to we can make it through...as long as I pack enough books for her.  This is how I often find her at night or during nap time. -She also loves blankets and towels, although she is not particular about which blanket.  She just wants something soft. She wants to walk around all over with them wrapped around her...they don't stay very well and she gets frustrated.  For that reason, I try to keep her blankets out of sight during the day. They come out when it's time to sleep. -Like my other kids, she loves her warm milk!  Actually, she'll drink it cold too. -She is a quiet one, always has ...

Christmas Advent 2012

Okay, here goes... Day 1: paint clay ornaments When we cut down trees this year there were a bunch of tops already cut down just lying on the ground so we took a couple home...one for Molly and Stockton's room and one for Brynn's room.  When the ornaments were dry I hung them on their little trees. Day 2: watch the Christmas Devotional (And eat Christmas corn!) Day 3: library story time Stockton was pretty nervous to see Santa but I think he was even more scared of not telling him what he wanted for Christmas.  He's smiling but it's a nervous smile!   Brynn had no reaction.   Day 4: Santa face craft   Day 5: Festival of Lights   Day 6: write letters to Santa Stockton: "Captain America" Molly: "an easy bake oven" & "a car for Molly"    Day 7: go shopping for cousin exchange and wrap presents Day 8: North Pole Express with Moyes family           ...
