Ivy's baby blessing

We blessed Ivy on March 1st.  Baby blessing are the best...I think they have been four of my favorite days.  For me it's a day to count our many, many blessings.  A sweet, new, perfect baby surrounded by so much love.  Our marriage, our kids, our families.  I sometimes can become overwhelmed when I think of all our blessings.

Ivy was blessed by Justin and had both of her grandpa's and all of her uncles minus one (Uncle Aaron who couldn't make it because he lives in Seattle) in the circle.  We were grateful for our families who all made it to Spanish Fork by 9:00 in the morning for the blessing at our church.  Justin gave a great blessing and we were spiritually fed by testimony meeting as well.  We gathered at our house afterwards for some egg casseroles, muffins, and fruit.

Here are the pictures from the day...

Grandpa Moyes and Grandma Kay
My mom is so talented-she made Ivy's blessing dress, just like she made Molly's and Brynn's.  They are so special and I am so glad my girls have these dresses made by their grandma that they can keep forever.
Me and my baby
I think this is the one and only picture of Ivy and me.  I'm usually the one behind the camera.

Me and my kids
Something has Ivy's attention on the wall behind us.

Another thing I want to remember and has been "tradition" since my mom's first grandbaby nearly 11 years ago.  Before the blessing day she takes the new mom shopping and has them pick out a new dress for the day.  Maybe not as important, but I have always appreciated having something cute and new to wear (and it's probably the only time I get a new dress).  I hope I can do this with my own kids.

The oldest and youngest
Molly wanted to wear her baptism dress so she could be in white like Ivy.

And sweet Ivy
We love her!

I have decided that I will do a little Ivy update on each post.  Just a way for me to keep track of what's she's doing and when.

Ivy update, March 28th:
-She still eats and sleeps mostly.  She takes a nap in between each feeding.
-She is exclusively nursed.  I've never even tried a bottle.  She eats ever 2-3 hours.  I would like to stretch her to 3 hours but it is still closer to every 2 hours.
-She takes her longest nap in the morning.  She sleeps in the swing in Molly's room in the morning.  The other naps are kind of wherever...in the bouncer downstairs, the porta-crib in our room, or in the car seat if we're out running errands.
-The rest of her naps are fairly short and a lot of times she wakes up as soon as I try to lay her down.
-She smiles to anyone who talks to her.  She loves to be talked to.  We think she might be our social butterfly.  She is also starting to coo and make those adorable baby noises.  It is fun to watch her concentrate on making those noises and the delight in her eyes when someone responds to them.
-She sleeps great at night and wakes up once to eat, usually around 4, and then goes right back down until around 8:30 or so.
-Her fussiest time is around 9 at night so it's a little harder to get her down at night.

Brynn @ 18 months

Yes, you read that right.  Brynn is 18 months old!!  She is so fun to have around the house and I haven't done a post devoted just to her for a while, so I thought it was about time. -She loves books!  She was never really that interested until sometime in the past couple months and now she can't get enough.  Sacrament meeting went from impossible to we can make it through...as long as I pack enough books for her.  This is how I often find her at night or during nap time. -She also loves blankets and towels, although she is not particular about which blanket.  She just wants something soft. She wants to walk around all over with them wrapped around her...they don't stay very well and she gets frustrated.  For that reason, I try to keep her blankets out of sight during the day. They come out when it's time to sleep. -Like my other kids, she loves her warm milk!  Actually, she'll drink it cold too. -She is a quiet one, always has ...

Stockton's 16th birthday

Stockton turned 16 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. We've always told him he has the best day to have a birthday but I don't think he was convinced this year. He was anxious to turn 16 and get his license...it really felt like it took forever to get here. I told Justin that Stockton had to wait so much longer than Molly to get his license and he said, "actually, it took the exact same amount of time", which is factually true, it just felt a lot longer with Molly getting her license September of her sophomore year and Stockton not getting his until after sophomore year, before junior year. But, it did eventually arrive and we did our best to celebrate. We did the family celebration the Sunday before, since it was Girl's Camp that week and Justin, Molly, and Brynn would all be gone on his actual birthday. We had his requested dinner, meatballs, and he opened his presents. He got his favorite treats (nerd clusters, sour patch watermelon, and cow tails) and a new bat th...

all about Stockton

Stockton has loved having his license. He enjoys his independence immensely and does not take it for granted, probably because he had to wait for so long. He takes care of his truck, inside and out. He is always willing to run errands for me or take/pick up his sisters when I need him to. He tries to take back roads whenever he can-good thing you can get most anywhere in Heber on back roads.   This summer his love for cars has really amped up. He said he's always loved cars but he has just been noticing and talking about them more and more. He will point out a "cool car" whenever we are in the car and has a lot of knowledge about all the different features of the different cars. He has a dream car (can't remember which one) but also knows which color he would get in each of the different kinds of sports cars. He has slowly been buying sports car Lego sets with his birthday money, putting them together, and displaying them in his room. It's fun to see how excited h...
