Other happenings...
We didn't make it to the Moyes Superbowl party but they let us participate in the trivia questions that Bryce always puts together.  We came in last place for the second year in a row.  Guess we're keeping the toilet plunger for another year.
Feb 2-Ivy's two week appointment
Ivy weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and was 18.75 inches.  She got a clean bill of health from the doc. 10 oz above her birth weight-she is getting chubby!

I also started giving her a binky this day.  She had not seemed like she wanted one at the beginning but had started to become fussier.  The binky has helped during the day...she still doesn't want it at night but she sleeps great without it then, once we actually get her down.
The week Justin had to go back to work he had a training in Ogden for three days.  So he stayed at my mom and dad's while my mom came down here to help out.  It was so great to have her!  She did laundry, got the kids off to school, vacuumed, and just helped out.
While my mom was visiting, we pulled the sugar cookie dough out of the freezer that I had intended on using during Christmas.  The kids had fun decorating them for Valentine's Day instead.  It wasn't necessarily a mess I wanted to tackle on my own so I'm glad my mom was there to help with the process.
Our library has a display case in the kid's section where kids can display their collections.  I submitted Stockton's name forever ago and finally got a call that it was his turn.  He's not into his cars anymore but he was excited to set them up at the library.  They've been there for over a month now and he's had a few friends tell him they saw his cars at the library.
Brynn's Valentine's caterpillar.
We always get the kids a little toy for Valentine's Day but we decided they had enough of those and went with something different this year.  We just typed up a little poster for each of them with an IOU one-on-one date with Mom and Dad.
Justin worked at the RV show in Sandy on Valentine's Day.  They gave him a gift card to Olive Garden and four free tickets to the BYU basketball game that night.  We saved the gift card for my birthday but Justin did take the three older kids to the game that night.
Brynn wants me to lay by her every night.  My patience with this fluctuates.
Molly got her date first and chose to go with Justin first.  They went to The Pizza Pie Cafe.  Molly loved the dessert pizzas the best.
Sidewalk paint on a warm afternoon.  I took Brynn on a bike ride that day too.
Love this note that Stockton made for Ivy.
Justin got more tickets toward the end of the month, this time for the Jazz game.  It was supposed to be for managers and their wives but I didn't really want to go and drag Ivy along so he took Stockton instead.  (Stockton decided that he was okay with this as his date instead of Nickelmania.) They got to sit in the suites and I think that Stocky liked that better since he could get up and move around a little more than he could at the Marriott Center.
Brynn's favorite letter is B.  Grandma taught her how to write it and she is very proud of herself.
This is a picture she drew of me.
My birthday was on the 27th. I turned 33.  Justin went camping with the Young Men but instructed the kids to be very good and do something nice.  So they banished me and Ivy to the upstairs while they set up a little party.  Ivy gave me a couple of great birthday presents...the first was that she slept all night (she hasn't since but I was happy with the once!) and the second was these cute smiles she gave me.
Finally I was called downstairs.  The kids had used crepe paper to decorate and they had set up an Oreo tower and goldfish for snacks.  They were very excited and cute.
Molly wrapped up a present for me.
The homemade gifts are the best!
We had a quiet night with cheese quesadillas for dinner and Monsters, Inc for the entertainment.

  1. I love all the pictures of Ivy. That's a good way to see how much they change that first month. And I like your date ideas for Valentine's day. I may need to steal that one.

  2. I had some catching up to do on your blog and I loved reading it all! I could pretty much copy and paste everything that you post about Molly for my Jane. Jane even went on the same date with her dad. :-) Those girls are awesome! I love reading about all of your kids. They are all so smart, so cute, and seem so fun. You are a good mom! I also loved your valentine idea and may have to do something like that too.
