Day 1: decorate the tree
My mom and dad had cut down a tree for us, since it wasn't our year to be at the cabin for Thanksgiving. Everyone else had gone up the weekend before but we didn't make it.
I let the kids put their ornaments wherever they wanted and they did a pretty great job. I only had to switch it up a little after they went to bed.
Day 2: write letters to Santa

Molly asked for a surprise. She didn't know what to ask for and she said that Santa has always done a good job at picking out presents for her so she trusted him to bring her something good.
Stockton wanted hulk muscles (the hulk smash fists).
Brynn wanted a Sofia doll.
Day 3: make Christmas playdough
I brought this one back from a few years ago because I remember Molly having lots of fun with it.
It was a hit! I was glad that we made it at the beginning of the month because it came out lots during the rest of the season.
Day 4: play Christmas Spot-It
Molly is good at this game and even when we try really hard, she beats us quite often.
Day 5: Write a Christmas letter to the Browns
Since Molly wrote it, it was mostly to Lizzy.
Day 6: decorate our gingerbread house
Day 7: go to the ward party
This was their first visit with Santa.

Brynn was not a fan of the big guy this year.
Day 8: watch the Christmas Devotional and eat Christmas corn
Not sure how much watching was done!
Day 9: storytime at the library
It was a puppet show this year and Molly even got picked to go up front and help with one of the songs.
They also saw Santa for the second time.
Brynn didn't even go up this time.
Day 10: make red and green Jell-o to have with dinner
My kids love this because I never make Jello.
Day 11: sing Christmas songs around the piano
Molly was the only one who appreciated this. She sang the whole time with me while everyone else was off doing whatever and has already requested that we do this again next year and all the years after that!
Day 12: bake and eat sugar cookies
Day 13 & 14: go to Grandma's
(It was our anniversary and we were off celebrating.)
Day 15: open a new book
This years book was called Mr. Willowby's Christmas Tree.

We had a huge snowstorm around the first of December. It started early, before we woke up, and continued all day long. Here is Molly on her way to school, around 8:20.
Stockton and Brynn headed out sometime after lunch.
The snow was so deep that Brynn had a hard time walking around in it. She kept falling down.
Stockton could have stayed out forever. He had such a good time exploring and just playing. A winter wonderland it truly was!
This is what happens when Brynn finds a new roll of floss.
As mentioned, Justin and I were able to get away for a couple of days to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We had a gift card to the Anniversary Inn that my mom had given us the year before for our anniversary so we finally got to use that. We got all our Christmas shopping finished up, did some window shopping at Modern Display in Salt Lake (they have amazing trees and a big collection of Christmas villages), ate dinner at The Bombay House (yum, yum, and yum!), and saw the Hobbit that was released that day. On Saturday we walked around the Church Museum and were able to meet the White's and Henri's (our friends from our Logan days) for dinner at Famous Dave's (a December tradition that we look forward to all year long).
Too bad I never take pictures of the two of us! This is where I would post them if I had them.
The Harry Potter love has spilled over and now Stockton's a fan as well. Here he is trying to be Harry Potter. All he needs to complete the look is some long shaggy hair!
