October

Brynn still likes me to read to her at night, when we have a chance. It took us a looooong time, but we made it through the book Front Desk. It was good but, honestly, we would have these huge gaps when we didn't read that the story was a little disjointed for both of us. I think she just likes the time together, as do I.

Molly's season continued through the entire month of October.  I made it to every home game in Price and was happy anytime I was able to see her.

#23

We went to Gene and April's house Conference Sunday for the second session. I brought along this puzzle that I had laying around but had never done. I was 500 pieces and I was certain we could finish it in one session...and we did. I didn't help at all with dinner but the puzzle got done, ha!

When USUE played SLCC, you better believe we were there to cheer Molly on! It was nice not to have to drive to Price to see her.

Molly's game had been an afternoon game (start time was 1:00) which was great since it was one of those really full days. After her game, Justin drove himself and my dad down to UVU to watch Stockton's late afternoon/early evening baseball game while my mom and I drove up the canyon to Heber to get Brynn ready and to the football game for a night of cheering. Then my dad and Justin drove up to Heber to join my mom and Ivy and me at the football game to watch Brynn. Gene and April and Brett came to watch Brynn as well. It started out so great and so nice and they were able to watch Brynn a little...about one quarter...and then the skies opened up and it rained. And rained. And rained. It was a torrential downpour for the last 3 quarters. The grandparents tried to stick it out but they both ended up leaving early, which I don't blame them for at all. My parents dropped Ivy at home but Justin and I waited it out, faithfully cheering on Brynn from under our umbrella and blankets, while she cheered her heart out out on the track. They even did a halftime performance! She was soaking wet at the end of the game, all layers of her soaked through to her skin.

One of Justin's priests was playing the role of Lurch in a local production of The Addam's Family so we went to watch him. It was a good show (very long) and we were glad we were able to be there to support him.

On the Sunday that marked the eve of Fall Break, Brynn and Ivy both wanted to make a treat. So Brynn made peanut butter no-bakes and Ivy made a giant chocolate chip cookie. I heard no complaints from anyone over the double dessert that night. (Forgot to get a picture of Ivy's finished dessert.)

The other form of entertainment that day/night was the making of a haunted house in Brynn's room. Stockton helped with this one and they truly gave me a jump scare when I walked through. Haha! Makeup courtesy of Brynn.

Since it was a non-school night (yay!) I stayed up, hyper-focused on getting this 1,000 piece puzzle done that I had started the week before during Conference. We had bought it at at the gift shop at the base of the Astoria Tower and I had been itching to pull it out for months. I definitely did most of it but anyone who helped at all, even putting in one piece, got to be in the picture. Molly would have been in the picture but she was in Price, boo. Stockton is not a fan of puzzles so he took the photo.

Fall Break-

On the first day of Fall Break, Stockton had a baseball game at UVU. I talked the girls into coming with us, rather that staying home, and I bribed them with window shopping at the mall between dropping him off and waiting for the game to start. We had to walk into the Halloween shop and set off the scary decorations.

Brynn and Ivy had several nights in a row of sleepovers in Brynn's room.

It had been quite a while since we had been to Gardner's Village to see the witches. Since we had the whole week off, we went on Tuesday afternoon, when we knew it would be way less crowded than at the end of the week when the rest of the state is also on break. My mom and Josie met us there.  We had a great time and went to eat at Culver's before driving home.

Brynn cheered at Springville during Fall Break since we were home. It was another rainy night and really never let up the entire game. It was a lot colder this game so they were able to escape to the bus for 3rd quarter before finishing the 4th quarter in the rain. I had driven down with one of the other cheer mom's and we left at the beginning of the 4th quarter.

it was not mandatory to be at this game since so many girls were gone- they only had 12 girls that night!  Brynn is on the far right

Justin had to work but the rest of us drove to Price to watch a game on Thursday. Jeff and Ali and my mom and dad were on their way to Moab but were so nice to stop and watch the game on their way.

On Friday, I took Ivy to the senior care center to do this pirate scavenger hunt. It was extremely detailed and some of the items were really tricky to find! We were impressed! There was a pirate ship theme as well on the opposite side of this scene.

That night we had a movie night, Brynn and Stockton had some friends over, and the girls made these pumpkin cinnamon roll things that they found in a magazine.

Brynn has been working hard to learn how to curl her hair. She started by practicing on Ivy and has moved onto her own hair. She is getting pretty good at it and only needs me if she is rushed for time.

One Wednesday night while the priests were at our house and Ivy and I were hiding out in my room upstairs, Molly called and started talking about Wicked Night on Dancing with the Stars. Ivy had never heard of this show but she checked it out and was instantly hooked. She watched all the episodes this last season and is now a fan! Actually, all my girls are fans and they each had their own opinion about who should win and who should not.

Stockton had a baseball tournament down in St. George the weekend before Halloween. Justin was performing a wedding that Saturday so I was able to take him. It worked out that we were able to go by way of Price and catch a soccer game on our way. It was chilly that day in Price and we had only packed for warm St. George weather! But we love any chance to see Molly and we were able to get some food with her before we started the drive to St. George.

St. George weather was gorgeous! A perfect Fall weekend! Stockton played 4 games, two Friday and two Saturday. This was the varsity team but he got a lot of time at second base and a little bit of pitching in the last game. They got a slow start that very first game and got quite a bit behind but fought back hard and came up one run short. They won the rest of their games. The team did really great and I was so glad I got to be there to watch, since it's usually Justin doing the baseball tournaments. My mom and dad were there as well, which was very nice of them.

I missed Brynn's last football game while I was in St. George. After two very wet games, the girls were happy to have a dry game to end the season. Brynn had so much fun cheering at all the games this fall!

Brynn @ 18 months

Yes, you read that right.  Brynn is 18 months old!!  She is so fun to have around the house and I haven't done a post devoted just to her for a while, so I thought it was about time. -She loves books!  She was never really that interested until sometime in the past couple months and now she can't get enough.  Sacrament meeting went from impossible to we can make it through...as long as I pack enough books for her.  This is how I often find her at night or during nap time. -She also loves blankets and towels, although she is not particular about which blanket.  She just wants something soft. She wants to walk around all over with them wrapped around her...they don't stay very well and she gets frustrated.  For that reason, I try to keep her blankets out of sight during the day. They come out when it's time to sleep. -Like my other kids, she loves her warm milk!  Actually, she'll drink it cold too. -She is a quiet one, always has ...

Stockton's 16th birthday

Stockton turned 16 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. We've always told him he has the best day to have a birthday but I don't think he was convinced this year. He was anxious to turn 16 and get his license...it really felt like it took forever to get here. I told Justin that Stockton had to wait so much longer than Molly to get his license and he said, "actually, it took the exact same amount of time", which is factually true, it just felt a lot longer with Molly getting her license September of her sophomore year and Stockton not getting his until after sophomore year, before junior year. But, it did eventually arrive and we did our best to celebrate. We did the family celebration the Sunday before, since it was Girl's Camp that week and Justin, Molly, and Brynn would all be gone on his actual birthday. We had his requested dinner, meatballs, and he opened his presents. He got his favorite treats (nerd clusters, sour patch watermelon, and cow tails) and a new bat th...

all about Stockton

Stockton has loved having his license. He enjoys his independence immensely and does not take it for granted, probably because he had to wait for so long. He takes care of his truck, inside and out. He is always willing to run errands for me or take/pick up his sisters when I need him to. He tries to take back roads whenever he can-good thing you can get most anywhere in Heber on back roads.   This summer his love for cars has really amped up. He said he's always loved cars but he has just been noticing and talking about them more and more. He will point out a "cool car" whenever we are in the car and has a lot of knowledge about all the different features of the different cars. He has a dream car (can't remember which one) but also knows which color he would get in each of the different kinds of sports cars. He has slowly been buying sports car Lego sets with his birthday money, putting them together, and displaying them in his room. It's fun to see how excited h...
