Ivy was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on February 11, 2023. It's hard for me to believe our baby is that old but it's really true. It was a wonderful day, one of those that will forever be in my heart. Ivy was excited and nervous leading up to the day and she was so excited to see each family member as they came into the church. She was waiting for them, looking so sweet in her white jumpsuit, and gave each one a hug as they came in.
Our stake changed the way they run the baptisms since Brynn was baptized. I wasn't sure I was going to like it since you don't get to plan a program or anything but it was such a beautiful day and I ended up loving the format.
Once our whole group was in the central meeting location (RS room), they moved us to the gym for pictures so we did a few different groups and then the entire group of people who had come.

We moved to the Primary room, where the font is, for the actual ordinance. Justin wasn't sure he wanted to conduct but decided he would do it and save one of his counselors the trip over to the church on a Saturday morning. He did great. Not everyone gets to say their dad conducted their baptism! He welcomed everyone (Rachelle and Camille were able to watch via zoom), we sang I Am a Child of God (I played, April lead), and Molly said the opening prayer. Ivy got baptized and it was very sweet. Grandma Kay and Grandpa Gene were witnesses. Everyone was then excused to the chapel while Justin and Ivy got changed. In the chapel, they watched some videos of Christ while they waited and when Justin was all done, he was able to continue with the program as the Spirit directed him. He called on Grandpa Moyes, Uncle Brett, and me to share testimonies. Justin gave some remarks. The Spirit was strong. Ivy was confirmed by Justin. In the circle was both her grandpa's, uncles Eric, Brett, Bryce, and Christopher (Jeff was in Mexico). Brynn said the closing prayer and we were excused to go.
Everyone was heading back to our house so I grabbed a quick picture of these three cuties. These are Ivy's best friends and they are the sweetest, cutest little trio. I just love them.

We had lunch at our house. I made sweet pork and sides for salads or burritos and that was easy since I could do everything ahead of time. Everyone spread around the house and the kids were all over the place. The cousins from each side blended well and it was an afternoon well-spent. Ivy opened a few gifts, among them a picture of Christ from Gene and April and her own scriptures from my mom and dad. We have the best families! |

A couple weeks before her baptism, we had her pictures taken. I hired a photographer to meet us down at the Provo City Center Temple but the weather was too bad that afternoon so we ended up in her studio. I was disappointed it didn't work out to be at the temple but the pictures turned out cute anyway. Maybe I'll try to take her down to the temple when it warms up and snap some in her dress on my own. We'll see. Here's my pretty girl!
