Halloween

For Halloween this year we had a mime, a dememtor, Dorothy, and Belle from the village.  We went to Plain City for my mom's Halloween party.  It's always fun to see the cousin's in their costumes.

carved/painted/decorated pumpkins.

We had dinner, opened goodie bags from Grandma, and went to the Walker's house.  They were in charge of the spook alley this year and had it all set up in their barns.

Halloween Day is always a super busy day!  I didn't even get a picture of Molly before school but I was happy that she decided to wear her costume to school.  They had a party the last hour of school for the students who had good enough grades.  Stockton didn't want to wear his dememtor costume to school so he went as a Wasatch baseball player.  Brynn was so adorable as Dorothy.  Ivy and I went to see the Halloween parade at school and then went to storytime.  She wore her Belle costume all day and anytime someone asked her who she was she would say "I'm Bellefromthebillage" all as one word and the "v" in village replaced with a "b" sound.  She was over-the-moon happy with her costume this year and she was adorable as well.
We had a minute for a quick lunch and then back to the school to help with Brynn's class party.  Her teacher had actually asked me to organize it.  I think it went well.  I did Bingo.  One of the mom's couldn't come in until 45 minutes into the party so we had our stations first and then let her fill in the remainder of the time with a cake walk.  Brynn was so cute helping Ivy around the letters on the floor.
I took Stockton and Brynn home from school.  Molly was already home when we got there and Justin came and grabbed the kids to take them trick-or-treating at Lee's.  He likes them to do that since his branch is there but I had piano lessons so I couldn't take them.  I like them to go because they each get a trick-or-treating bag with a coupon for a free gallon of ice cream that I can use over the next couple of months.
They got home, we had dinner, freshened up costumes, and headed out the door for trick-or-treating.  Molly added make-up to herself, painted Stockton's face, and helped Brynn with some make-up as well.  I added layers because it was a cold night this year.
We decided to go to a neighborhood in our ward.  It doesn't have as many houses as Cobblestone but it was way better (meaning less crowded!) and the kids got just as much candy.  Molly was able to go off with a couple of her friends from the ward and that made her super happy.  Justin and I really enjoyed watching our kids run from house to house and seeing our friends out with their kids.  When we were finished in that neighborhood, we had to go see the haunted house and then we were finished.  The kids love laying out their candy, dividing it, trading it, etc.  We let them pick 5 treats to take to their rooms and then put the rest in the candy bin and I am in charge of divvying it up over the next few weeks.  That works for us!
Stockton loved this "Take Note" pumpkin carved by our friends, the MacAffee's.
Ivy is still fixated on Halloween and is continually thinking about what she wants to be next year.  She is hoping Santa will bring her a pink Aurora dress for her to wear on Halloween next year.  Aren't kids the best?
