We got some good snow time during the break. I love these pictures of the kids trying to pose and getting caught off guard by Cash.
The snow was too powdery to build a snowman so we built one laying down.
We did a little kid switching over the break as well. My parents brought Chloe and Tessa up to our house and we got to keep them for two nights. We had lots of fun playing in the snow, making our own pizzas, making homemade trail mix (the girls did this all on their own and were very creative!), and lots of laughing and playing. Justin was in St. George golfing so it truly was a girls-only house for a couple of days.

Stockton was able to go home with Grandma and Grandpa and stay at Grant's house one night and one night at my parent's with cousins there with him. He went sledding and played at Toads.
All the decorations came down that week after Christmas, including the gingerbread house. At first the kids tried picking off the candies but I told them they could smash it if they wanted to. They wanted and they did!
Our New Year's Eve was spent at home, just like we do every year. I did the same thing as last year and took the kids to the store and let them each pick one thing that they wanted for dinner. We ended up having chips and salsa, summer sausage, a couple of cheeseballs with crackers, frozen pizza, mini corndogs, along with cupcakes (made by Molly), a chocolate orange, and sour patch kids. Justin also provided shrimp with cocktail sauce. We set up the card table and let the kids eat in the living room.
Then we had our game and movie night. We played Beat the Parents, Life, and Ticket to Ride. We watched Monsters University, Zootopia, and Annie.
Ivy went to bed at her normal time, Brynn made it halfway through Ticket to Ride and then crashed on the couch (probably around the 10:30 mark), and Stockton and Molly made it all the way to midnight. Good thing we had 1:00 church the next morning so we could all sleep in!
For the last two years, Molly has been invited to go with a friend, either at their house or out somewhere fun but she continues to want to be at home with us. That will probably change soon enough but I am happy that she still wants to spend time with her family.
Happy 2017!!
