I really, really, really love the 4th. It is up there with Christmas as my favorite day of the year. I would maybe even say I look forward to it more than Christmas. I love every single thing about the whole day. We stuck with tradition again this year...as if I would ever think of doing anything different!

The kids love matching with their cousins!
Parade-
I guess there was one thing that we did differently-instead of the kids decorating their bikes and riding in the parade our whole family rode on the Moyes float for the parade. My dad's uncle and cousin started Swift Trucking and it was the 50th anniversary for that. Patrice, the daughter and sister to the founders (my dad's cousin), got a couple trucks and decorated a trailer that we rode on. The kids weren't too disappointed that they missed out on riding their bikes and they had fun throwing candy to the parade watchers.

I sure am proud to have grown up in Plain City. My pioneer ancestors were some of the the first ones to settle it (their first cabin is still there!) and there have been Moyes's there ever since. It is a blessing to have such a great legacy. I love being a Moyes and I'll always be a Plain City girl at heart.
The rest of the day went the way it does every year. Games at the park-
Molly did the fish scramble this year and caught a fish!
Brynn wanted to try it but once we got her there she decided she really didn't want to do it after all. It was a bit stressful getting her there on time so I tried to force her into the water but that was met with tears and just a little screaming.
She was much more content to stand in line for.ev.er to get her face painted. Even though I knew it would get washed off as soon as we made it back to grandma's and the pool.
Also fun just walking around with cousins and playing games.

Sparklers and fireworks-
We changed the location a little bit since Jeff and Ali's house was still under construction. We just moved it across the street.
Fremont fireworks-
We ended up staying for these even though Justin had to work the following morning. We were just having too much fun. We were in a rush to get there and the fireworks started on our way so we quickly pulled over and watched them from the cemetery. We had a great view of the fireworks and there was no crowd-we might end up there next year too!

I really feel like these are the days that my kids are going to remember and I am so grateful to be able to make such wonderful, happy, family-filled memories for them.
What a fun and busy life. My kids love to sleep outside in the tent too. I haven't dared let them do it by themselves yet. Thankfully Ben is willing to do it.
