We couldn't make it to back to school night (it was AFCU's Lagoon night) so I took the kids over earlier that day to meet their teachers and see where their classrooms were. I think they were a little anxious since it was still a fairly new school for them.
We had a late, late night the night before but they were both so excited that they popped right out of bed when I woke them up that morning. We had gone school shopping the week before and they had picked out their clothes the night before.
They catch the bus on the highway so Justin or I always drive them so they're not waiting on the highway. They like to ride with our neighbor, Easton Anderson, who is in 2nd grade this year. They ride the bus there and back. The three of them walk the short distance home in the afternoon.

And off they go! They are having a great year so far! Both of them really love school and are excellent students.
This is Brynn's last year until Kindergarten. We didn't put her in a preschool but we did sign her up for the free state pre-school program, Upstart. She just has to be on the computer doing the program for 15 minutes, 5 days a week. She can do it completely independently and so far, she seems to like it okay.
We are also enjoying our daily "plans." I try to have those scheduled when Ivy is napping so she has my full attention. Some of her favorites are painting nails and riding bikes (when it's warm enough) but we've also done painting a few times, played playdough, built forts, played board and computer games, had tea parties, watched movies, and played house with the stuffed animals.
At first she was bored all day without Stockton at home to play with but over time it has become the norm for her and she is able to entertain herself for the bulk of the day. As long as she is in the same room as me. :)
Summer went way too fast and I love having my kids home, but it sure is nice to get back to a routine.

Megan, you are the best mom! It's so fun to see them all grown up and going to school!
