1. He still loves Star Wars although it's not quite as intense right now. I can't remember the last time we watched one of the movies.
2. Also loves baseball. He hasn't been interested in playing any other sports in the past but after a family game of soccer, he decided he liked that and wants to try it this fall.
3. Along with the first two: Stockton has a very focused mind-that's the best way to describe it. When he gets and idea in his mind, it will not go away until that thing happens. He is not easily distracted away from that thing either. We think that's why he gets into these intense likes for the current thing (cars, superheros, baseball, Star Wars, etc). It also happens on a smaller scale...for example, he got a new watch and he wanted me to set the clock on it right away. I was in the middle of something and couldn't get to it right then but he followed me around until it was done.
4. Has a soft spot for Ivy. He can be grumpy, hyper, sad, you name the emotion and once he sees Ivy, he gets down on her level and sweet talks her and gives her toys and hugs and kisses. If he was ever disappointed that he didn't get a brother, he has never once shown or expressed it.
5. Has a hard time playing by himself. He always wants Brynn or Molly to play with him.
6. Has a crazy streak. Really. He gets so hyper sometimes that he gets on everyone's nerves. He's so calm and mild mannered at school and church that this surprises a lot of people, but it's true. He has a really loud laugh.
7. He is terrified of dogs. He will only ride his bike down one half of our street because the neighbors on the other side have two big dogs. Not even when we assure them the dogs are in the house and can't get out. He won't play there either. He is not big on other animals either-he won't go in the pasture where the horses and pigs are and he did not love the petting zoo that we went to this summer.
8. He has developed a huge appetite over the last year. He seems to always be hungry. Good thing he's not much of a picky eater. He has always had those things that he just won't try but they are not very many. I really had to limit snacking this summer or he would have been constantly eating. He loves rice and meat for dinner, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch, and for breakfast the traditional pancakes, waffles, crepes, and french toast are probably his favorites but he will also down a couple bowls of oatmeal or a few muffins in one sitting.
9. Stockton is a great reader, although it's not something he just does on his own like Molly does. He likes it when I read to them at lunchtime and bedtime and he'll read to himself quietly before lights out at night but he's never been the type to go get a book and sit down to read just because he feels like it.
10. Has zero patience. This is probably true for most kids, but I swear Stockton is the worst. He has a hard time waiting for anything. He understands a little bit more the concept of time and is always asking how many seconds he has to wait for things. For example, if I say he can have/do something in 5 minutes, he will ask how far he has to count to. Then he will count to 60 five times.
We love this boy!
What a cutie. I remember when we visit taught together and he was just a little squirt.
