Molly's 8th birthday

Molly turned 8 on September 15th, 2014.  It was more of a quiet birthday this year with no friend party.  Her birthday fell on a Monday so all the grandparents and Brett came down the day before, on Sunday.  She requested tacos for her dinner so that's exactly what we had.  After dinner we opened presents.  Grandma and Grandpa Moyes gave her a mini iPod, her name pillow, new clothes, and a write-your-own-story kit.
 
Grandma and Grandpa Goodrich gave her ceramic precious moments dolls...one for each year she's been alive.  April also typed up a sweet little note documenting the special things of each year.
 
After the presents had been opened, we had cake.  Molly's request was easy this year: chocolate cake, purple frosting, and shaped like an 8.  She picked out the candy that she wanted to decorate it with (chewy sprees and runts).  That is definitely the way I like to do birthday cakes!
On the day of her birthday, she got up and went to school.
I don't think her day was too different than any other day, although she did get to take a birthday treat to share.

Since we didn't do a party, we did let her choose one fun family activity to do that night.  She chose to go to Classic Skating.  She had gone to a birthday party there the year before and decided that was a place that she would like to go for her birthday.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera so there are no pictures but we had a blast!

We met Justin there and started out playing in the bounce houses for a while.  When our pizza was ready we took a break to eat and Molly opened presents from us.  She got a new soccer ball, an outfit for her Emily doll, and a Harry Potter Spellbook.

After dinner, we did the arcade games for a while and then ended up trying out the roller skating.  The skating didn't go that well, Molly and Stockton were on the floor most of the time and they kind of ended up getting frustrated.  So we didn't stay long there and instead spent the rest of our time on the bounce houses.

Brynn @ 18 months

Yes, you read that right.  Brynn is 18 months old!!  She is so fun to have around the house and I haven't done a post devoted just to her for a while, so I thought it was about time. -She loves books!  She was never really that interested until sometime in the past couple months and now she can't get enough.  Sacrament meeting went from impossible to we can make it through...as long as I pack enough books for her.  This is how I often find her at night or during nap time. -She also loves blankets and towels, although she is not particular about which blanket.  She just wants something soft. Kids pictures, Fall 2012

These pictures took a couple of tries to get them, the first appointment we had scheduled had to be canceled because it was so windy!  Luckily the weather held out for us, and even though it was quite chilly, the kids cooperated beautifully and the pictures turned out great! Christmas Advent 2012

Okay, here goes... Day 1: paint clay ornaments When we cut down trees this year there were a bunch of tops already cut down just lying on the ground so we took a couple home...one for Molly and Stockton's room and one for Brynn's room.  When the ornaments were dry I hung them on their little trees. Day 2: watch the Christmas Devotional (And eat Christmas corn!)
