Molly turned 7 on September 15th. Her birthday fell on a Sunday and we celebrated all weekend! We started on Friday night when she was able to open her present from us. Justin had picked out her present and he was so excited to give it to her. We didn't wrap anything but she had to uncover each gift in a certain order.
Underneath blanket #1: foam golf balls
Blanket #2: golf tees
Blanket #3: Golf clubs!
Molly had shown interest in golfing during our last visit to the cabin and then she really enjoyed going to the driving range a few times. She is kind of at a hard age for presents (too old for a lot of toys but not quite old enough for electronics and that sort of thing) so we figured this was a great year to get her some golf clubs. She was very excited!
She practiced in the house (the balls are foam) and then outside before she went to bed.
Justin and Molly hit the golf course early Saturday morning and had a good time doing that. I'm excited for her to learn this sport and maybe even more excited for the one-on-one time she'll get with her dad while she's learning it!
It was Molly's year for a friend party so we did that on Saturday afternoon. She knew long ago that she wanted a Harry Potter party. We had a lot of fun, but I'm going to save the details for another post. Here's a preview...
My mom and dad had brought Chloe and Abby down for the party so they stayed a little longer and gave Molly some presents. She got the set of American Girl Molly books, a Merida Brave plush doll (she's been trying to save up money for this), a matching pajama set for her and her Molly doll, and some new clothes.
After they left, Molly spent some time playing with all her new toys (from friends and grandparents) and then we went out for pizza.
Molly had been saying for quite a while that she wants streamers on the stairs when she wakes up on her birthday. That was a simple request.
After church, Gene and April and Brett came down for dinner. Molly had requested meatballs and mashed potatoes for her birthday dinner. I did mini meatloaves and mashed potatoes and called it close enough. She was happy with that.
Grandma and Grandpa gave her some fashion design notebooks and stencils and April made a flannel nightgown for Molly.
Seven years sure have flown by! We love our Molly and what she brings to our family. Here's a little bit about her:

Other kids think that I am: Some think I'm mean. Some think I'm really nice. Others think I'm smart.
(Mom's note: I really don't know why anyone would think of Molly as mean! She truly doesn't have a mean bone in her body! If she is not nice to someone, it's because she didn't mean to and then she feels horrible after.)
