May

At night Justin will put on some music and help the kids clean up.  I don't know if it's the music or that Dad's helping but toys get cleaned up so fast this way.  (When I do this it has little effect.  It must be Justin.)
Both my parents and Justin's mom have birthdays in May.  Throw in Mother's Day, 3 siblings birthdays, and two nephews and it's a busy month (although June is a close second).  We don't live close enough to see everyone on their birthdays but it did give us a few reasons to make special Sunday afternoon trips to each family.
Stockton and Jake-Grandma April's birthday
Riley and Brynn-Mother's Day
Tiana and Molly-Brett's birthday
all the Moyes cousins-Grandpa's birthday
Kindergarten Mother's Day picnic.  A friend watched Stockton and Brynn so I got some time with Miss Molly, a rarity these days.
We repainted our kitchen. Or rather, Justin repainted our kitchen.  It was red and now it is tan, like the rest of our house.  The change is nice.  We also did a tile backsplash that looks pretty awesome.  Molly got to paint the wall behind the fridge.  She thought she was pretty cool.
Justin tied the little red car to the back of the 4-wheeler.  Fun, fun, fun...can you hear Brynn's giggles?  She thought it was a great ride!
Brynn spilled hummingbird feeder on the front porch right after I swept and hosed it off.  So I put her to work.  (She actually had a lot of fun.)
Side note:  Brynn does not like to be dressed.  I have to put duct tape on her diaper whenever she goes down for a nap or bed because I know for sure her clothes/jammies will come off.  Her diaper would come off too, if I didn't tape it.

Molly finished her year of gymnastics.  I finally got some pictures of the last couple of weeks.
She got a little bored with it around January/February but then started really loving it.  Maybe that is when it started to click with her.  Or she switched to a different coach who she absolutely loved.
She's debating now about trying ballet or doing gymnastics again this upcoming year.
Getting help from the owner with a back handspring.
Molly is a reader!!  I love it!!  She reminds me of myself when I was little.  If she's reading she tunes out everything.  It's fun to watch her line up all the books that she wants to read and try to pick which one is going to be read next.
I'm glad that she still lets me read to her.

We made a Summer Bucket List.  We had to wait until the recital was over to start but the kids have been picking one each week that we can do.  It forces me to be a fun mom and gives us all something to look forward to.
One night before bed Stocky fell and smacked his mouth/front teeth/upper lip pretty hard on his bed.  One of his front teeth was knocked a little crooked and that worried us a bit.  We called Uncle Jeff (it's nice to have a dentist in the family) and he told us to give him Ibuprofen and get him to a dentist in the morning for x-rays.  He woke up in a lot of pain (wouldn't even drink milk from a sippy) and a huge swollen lip.  I felt so bad for him!
It was the Friday before Memorial Day so our pediatric dentist was not working that day.  Turns out a lot of dentists were taking the day off.  We eventually found a regular dentist that took our insurance and was able to see him and take x-rays.  The x-rays looked good, meaning that there were no fractured teeth.  Since his tooth wasn't wiggly it wasn't needing to be pulled.  Just for us to watch it and make sure it didn't go black, which would mean the root was dead and it would need to come out.  Two weeks later and it still looks okay.  It has become habit to bite everything with his back teeth rather than the front since it was so sore for so long.  He had a massive bruise on the underside of his lip and gums.  It was kinda sad to watch but I'm glad his teeth are okay!  He has such a cute smile!
Two days later and the swelling is still there.  It probably took 4 days for the swelling to be all the way gone...a few days longer than that for the bruising to go away.
Justin brought these two pieces of wood home one day for a project.  The kids thought they made a great slide!
Molly's been dying to go back to Trafalga in Lehi ("Trafalga with rides") so it came as no surprise that she picked that first from the Bucket List.  We met Justin there after work one day and played around for a couple of hours.
The kids were so excited to be there.
They were being so silly and hyper.

Poor Brynn.  She's too little to ride anything.  But she didn't seem to care too much.

We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer break.  Molly was bored a little the first week but we've established a good daily routine and she hasn't been bored since then.  We have a great neighborhood so there is always someone to play with in the afternoon.  We also made an "I'm bored" jar for those times that there is nothing to do.  We've only had to pull it out once, though, so I'm pretty positive it will last all summer.  Gotta love summertime!!

  1. I love the idea of the music and dad helping clean up the toys at night. I am going to have to try and convince Lance that is a good idea. Looks like you guys have already gotten a good start to a fun summer. And you have some more fun things on your list!

Brynn @ 18 months

Yes, you read that right.  Brynn is 18 months old!!  She is so fun to have around the house and I haven't done a post devoted just to her for a while, so I thought it was about time. -She loves books!  She was never really that interested until sometime in the past couple months and now she can't get enough.  Sacrament meeting went from impossible to we can make it through...as long as I pack enough books for her.  This is how I often find her at night or during nap time. -She also loves blankets and towels, although she is not particular about which blanket.  She just wants something soft. She wants to walk around all over with them wrapped around her...they don't stay very well and she gets frustrated.  For that reason, I try to keep her blankets out of sight during the day. They come out when it's time to sleep. -Like my other kids, she loves her warm milk!  Actually, she'll drink it cold too. -She is a quiet one, always has ...

Stockton's 16th birthday

Stockton turned 16 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. We've always told him he has the best day to have a birthday but I don't think he was convinced this year. He was anxious to turn 16 and get his license...it really felt like it took forever to get here. I told Justin that Stockton had to wait so much longer than Molly to get his license and he said, "actually, it took the exact same amount of time", which is factually true, it just felt a lot longer with Molly getting her license September of her sophomore year and Stockton not getting his until after sophomore year, before junior year. But, it did eventually arrive and we did our best to celebrate. We did the family celebration the Sunday before, since it was Girl's Camp that week and Justin, Molly, and Brynn would all be gone on his actual birthday. We had his requested dinner, meatballs, and he opened his presents. He got his favorite treats (nerd clusters, sour patch watermelon, and cow tails) and a new bat th...

all about Stockton

Stockton has loved having his license. He enjoys his independence immensely and does not take it for granted, probably because he had to wait for so long. He takes care of his truck, inside and out. He is always willing to run errands for me or take/pick up his sisters when I need him to. He tries to take back roads whenever he can-good thing you can get most anywhere in Heber on back roads.   This summer his love for cars has really amped up. He said he's always loved cars but he has just been noticing and talking about them more and more. He will point out a "cool car" whenever we are in the car and has a lot of knowledge about all the different features of the different cars. He has a dream car (can't remember which one) but also knows which color he would get in each of the different kinds of sports cars. He has slowly been buying sports car Lego sets with his birthday money, putting them together, and displaying them in his room. It's fun to see how excited h...
