I was happy to receive a text in the middle of the night with news
that we had a new nephew! Bryce and Erin didn't find out what they were
having this time and I think that when Bryce found out it was a boy he
just couldn't contain his excitement, hence the message at 4 in the
morning (May 5 - Cinco de Mayo). I didn't mind...Stocky was in our bed
(as he ends up every night) so I wasn't sleeping all that soundly
anyway. Baby's name is Spencer. He is so cute!!
We had a birthday party for Grandma April.
Justin
made these mason jar planter boxes for both our moms for Mother's Day; I
asked him to make one for me too since they are so cute.
I would have been perfectly happy with the planter box and some dark chocolates but Justin did more than that. He made this:
I hung it up in our bedroom. I took a bazillion pictures of it but I can't seem to get it without a glare. Or it's too dark. But you get the general idea. Justin bought the letters, took the kids to the park to take their picture, then took the letters back the next day!
Stocky
woke up one morning and decided that he was done with diapers. He went
that whole first day completely dry and hasn't had too many accidents
since. (He still prefers to do #2 in the toilet so we have diapers
around for that, as well as night-time. But progress has definitely
been made. Hooray!)
I made swords for the kids one day. They had fun for about 5 minutes. Good thing I didn't spend too much time on them.
We
planted some flowers on our front porch. They've done pretty good!
I'm usually great at killing my plants so I am happy that they
are still doing so well.
(Brynn's a little overwhelmed because we kept telling her no when she tried touching them. We bought way too many and ended up returning a little less than half. hehe)
Molly had her final dance review of the year. She did great! She is really growing up!!
Her
last dance class was open for parents. We got to see the things they
have learned and each girl got an award. Molly got "Best Leaps." This is her teacher, Natasha.
Brett's
birthday was at the end of the month. He's been struggling with more
seizures than normal so we (meaning all of Justin's family) wanted to do
something really fun for him...to take his mind off of it, and to let
him know how important he is to our family. We brainstormed
for a couple of days until we decided to surprise him with some indoor
skydiving at IFLY. Justin's parents stayed with all the grandkids (9 of
them!) while the siblings and their spouses all piled in Camille's van and
headed to Ogden. Brett got 4 minutes, one minute at a time. He started
off a little shaky-nerves more than anything, I think-but quickly
caught on and did a great job! It was so fun watching him. After we'd
picked up the kids and started on our way home, Justin said, "That was
some of the best money we've spent in a long time." I agree. Brett was
exhausted when it was over but hopefully he had a little bit of fun.
On
the last day of May there was a knock on the door. It was the neighbor
coming to show off the huge butterfly he had caught while riding his
bike. You can kind of tell how big and beautiful it was. Really, I was
captivated. The detail on the wings was amazing. Molly held it (it
must have been injured because it never flew away).
Stocky was interested in it, but not enough to hold it. This was as close as he got!

I Love LOVE the picture of Molly in her dance costume. What a poser. So cute.
ReplyDeleteYay for making strides in the potty training department! I hope that continues to go well!
Wow! You did plant a lot of flowers. Way to go! Molly looks so cute and grown up in her dance costume.
