finishing up the year

2 days after Christmas, Justin and I drove up to Ogden to be in the temple with Abby and the rest of my family as she received her endowment. I was feeling better enough to attend and was so happy to get out of the house. Molly drove up while we were in the temple and was able to come to dinner with everyone after the session. I was driving home that night while her and Justin were staying at my parents that night so they could drive up to Rexburg early the next morning.

Christopher, Erin, Dad, Mom, Ben, Bryce, Abby, Erin, Spencer and Grace did baptisms while the rest of us were in the session, Ali, Jeff, Justin, me
Ali, Jeff, Justin, me, Molly

Justin and Molly got up early and drove to Rexburg for Sloane Ellingford's mission farewell. She is still one of Molly's best friends even though they moved up there at the beginning of junior year. Justin served in the bishopric with Justin Ellingford for four months as well and so he was excited to go to the farewell and see an old friend. It was a good day, a lot of driving (they got home around 6 Sunday night) but well worth it.

Molly and Sloane; Sloane will be serving in the Canada Calgary mission
We had dentist appointments with Jeff the week after Christmas and, thankfully, we were all better. Stockton, unfortunately, had to work at his new job at a ski-rental shop and couldn't get off so he had to stay home. We all missed him, especially the boys. We got there first and so the kids got their grandparent gifts. A cute bag for all the girls filled with some fun things like lip gloss and lotion and hair stuff.
When everyone got to grandma and grandpa's house, we did the cousin gift exchange. Molly got a Utah State beanie (some big news to announce from her in a different post); Stockton: a hoodie; Brynn: body butter and shave oil; Ivy: Wicked slippers. So fun to see what everyone gifted and got!
When the gift exchange was done, we piled into cars and drove to town to go bowling. We had four different lanes and played two rounds. We all had a great time and were happy to get together.

Brynn got a score higher that 100! (don't tell, but she had bumpers)

We brought Stockton's gift from Grandma and Grandpa home for him. He was really sad to miss bowling but was happy for his new gifts: the hoodie from cousins, and a bin for under the back bench in his truck. He uses it to store all his baseball equipment and it has kept his truck really clean and tidy, which is important to him.

We started our room clean-outs, yay! Brynn and Ivy were so excited! It feels so good to do a deep clean!
Brynn's hoping for a room re-do for her birthday in March
Puzzle #2 for the break finished!
New Year's Eve!!! We didn't stray from tradition and we had everyone pick out their favorite dinner option. We ended up with: shrimp cocktail, coconut shrimp, taquitos, pretzel bites, tater tots, pasta (garlic-lemon pasta made by Molly for Ivy as a substitute from her normal red spaghetti). Also some queso dip that someone had gifted us for Christmas and Shirley Temples to drink, of course!

Molly had options for going out but she ended up just staying home, which we were totally okay with! Stockton ate dinner with us but then he left to hang out with friends, which we were also okay with! Brynn and Ivy were home with us. We played games and continued our Harry Potter movie marathon, which we had started earlier in the break. We played Skyjo, Code Names, Enchanted Forest, some charades, and a game called Lies that Molly taught the girls that they loved and that I just watched. We were all awake to ring in the New Year at midnight (Justin barely awake, as he chose to relax with a blanket and a pillow on the floor the whole night)!

Brynn @ 18 months

Yes, you read that right.  Brynn is 18 months old!!  She is so fun to have around the house and I haven't done a post devoted just to her for a while, so I thought it was about time. -She loves books!  She was never really that interested until sometime in the past couple months and now she can't get enough.  Sacrament meeting went from impossible to we can make it through...as long as I pack enough books for her.  This is how I often find her at night or during nap time. -She also loves blankets and towels, although she is not particular about which blanket.  She just wants something soft. She wants to walk around all over with them wrapped around her...they don't stay very well and she gets frustrated.  For that reason, I try to keep her blankets out of sight during the day. They come out when it's time to sleep. -Like my other kids, she loves her warm milk!  Actually, she'll drink it cold too. -She is a quiet one, always has ...

Stockton's 16th birthday

Stockton turned 16 on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. We've always told him he has the best day to have a birthday but I don't think he was convinced this year. He was anxious to turn 16 and get his license...it really felt like it took forever to get here. I told Justin that Stockton had to wait so much longer than Molly to get his license and he said, "actually, it took the exact same amount of time", which is factually true, it just felt a lot longer with Molly getting her license September of her sophomore year and Stockton not getting his until after sophomore year, before junior year. But, it did eventually arrive and we did our best to celebrate. We did the family celebration the Sunday before, since it was Girl's Camp that week and Justin, Molly, and Brynn would all be gone on his actual birthday. We had his requested dinner, meatballs, and he opened his presents. He got his favorite treats (nerd clusters, sour patch watermelon, and cow tails) and a new bat th...

all about Stockton

Stockton has loved having his license. He enjoys his independence immensely and does not take it for granted, probably because he had to wait for so long. He takes care of his truck, inside and out. He is always willing to run errands for me or take/pick up his sisters when I need him to. He tries to take back roads whenever he can-good thing you can get most anywhere in Heber on back roads.   This summer his love for cars has really amped up. He said he's always loved cars but he has just been noticing and talking about them more and more. He will point out a "cool car" whenever we are in the car and has a lot of knowledge about all the different features of the different cars. He has a dream car (can't remember which one) but also knows which color he would get in each of the different kinds of sports cars. He has slowly been buying sports car Lego sets with his birthday money, putting them together, and displaying them in his room. It's fun to see how excited h...
