**I can't believe I almost forgot to post about my favorite day of the whole summer! Chronologically this should go before the Cooperstown and New York posts. Not a big deal, but it will bug me anyway. ;)
We were a split family this year for the 4th, with the boys heading across country to Cooperstown, NY for the baseball tournament that beats all baseball tournaments and the girls heading to Plain City for the best day of the summer. I so look forward to this magical day every year, the 4th of July is
tied with Christmas for me. I am so grateful that I can give this day
to my kids and that they love it every bit as much as I do. We missed Justin and Stockton but since baseball is America's past-time, it was fitting that the tourney started on America's birthday in the home of the baseball hall of fame.
Anyway, the girls and I headed to Plain City Sunday night (July 3rd). They decorated their bikes (Brynn and Ivy) and went on a night hike (Molly). Brynn slept at Harper's, Ivy had a sleepover with Seth and Lucy, and Molly slept in the Broadbent's basement.

Early on the 4th, Molly did the 5K with Bryce and some of the cousins. She got her best time ever! Ivy and Brynn did the bike parade. I rode my mom's bike alongside Ivy then we all watched the parade together. (We decided to wear our Moyes T-shirts from mom and dad's 50th anniversary celebration. My mom has always bought matching clothes for the cousins but we wanted to show off our parents. We had so many people ask about them and compliment them.)

After the parade it was games at the park. I barely saw Molly. Brynn hung out with Grace and then Grant and even Ivy and Lucy a little. Ivy hung out with Lucy. Ivy didn't do a lot of games because she was so hungry. She was a little better after she had some nachos. Cotton candy for the second year in a row.Once the girls heard Grandma say she was going to open the pool, they were done at the park. Grace, Brynn, and Ivy were the first to jump in. Most of the cousins eventually joined them throughout the afternoon and it was a swim-a-thon for the rest of the day. My mom had ordered Zeppe's for a delicious mid-afternoon refresher..jpg) |

There was a quick break for dinner then another swim in the pool until we made everyone get out and walk down to the square for the softball games. Bryce was playing and then my dad. Ali had brought some chalk markers that the kids could use for face paint which turned into drawing on arms and legs and hands and feet, in addition to their faces.

It was back to the pool after the game and they stayed there for the rest of the night. They got out of the pool long enough to do some sparklers before jumping right back in. The most magical part of the day was watching the fireworks from the pool. Ali had brought a big speaker and was taking song requests so we listened to music from Sandlot (the 4th of July scene when they play baseball and watch fireworks) and a few other great "America" songs. It really did feel like one of those can't-get-any-better moments.

We were exhausted that night and we slept fast and hard. We stayed that night since we had dentist appointments with Jeff the next morning. Then we were back home and to our regularly scheduled summer life.
