Last year when Molly got her job as an elf (the first time), her biggest goal was to save enough money for an airplane ticket to Atlanta to go visit Camille. She was successful in that and we booked some tickets for her to go at the end of April. Covid ruined those plans and her trip was rescheduled for the first week of November. We had her quarantine for the entire week leading up to the trip and she was okay with doing that. She really didn't want anything preventing her from going. We also wanted to be considerate of the Tanner's and make sure she wasn't taking anything to their house. All worked out and Monday, November 2nd found her, Gene, April, and Brett getting ready to board an airplane bound for Denver and then Atlanta.

Molly has flown before, but it was way back in 2009 when we went to Kentucky to visit Ali and Jeff. She has no memories of it. She was really nervous to fly and I am glad she had Gene and April with her. She did great on the flights and ended up loving it!

Camille was so nice to accommodate everyone...she made all her boys move to one room so Molly could have a room all to herself! They had her favorite snacks and some treats waiting for her when she arrived. |

All the boys were happy that Molly came to visit, but none more than little Kai. He attached onto Molly quickly. She said that he was her wake up call every morning when he would sneak into her room, put his face right up next to hers, and ask her if she was up. He rarely left her side and called her his best friend. It was sweet to hear about-since we live so far apart and he is so young, I doubt that he remembers her from two summer ago (2019), which was the last time we saw them. |

I should have her type up the things that they did, but I will do my best with the pictures that everyone shared with me. The boys were in school so they worked around their schedules. They did some daytime outings and mostly stayed at home once the boys got home. They played lots of games, I think! |

They went to the Atlanta Aquarium. Molly loved it here. She said it was huge and they had a extensive variety of underwater creatures. That might have been her favorite place to visit.

They visited some war memorial cemeteries a couple of times, I think. Maybe a Civil War memorial and a WWII memorial? I'm foggy on the details.

On Saturday, when all the boys were home, they went on a hike to Tallulah Gorge State Park. I know this name because of the picture with the sign.

I
know she also got a lunch and shopping date with Camille one day and
they almost ate at a restaurant that had goats on the roof. She thought
that was a little random. She had so much fun and it was a great
experience for her to see a different part of the world. And I'm so
grateful she was able to see some family and build those connections. I have a few other kids who think that they want to earn money to take them to Atlanta now as well!
