1. He can be very passionate about the things he loves. He's gone through many stages....the earliest I can remember was around 20 months old and he loved basketball. I remember him coming to the hospital when Brynn was born-he had no interest in his new sister but kept pointing to the TV and saying "b-b-ball." He's gone through stages where he's loved cars, Rescue Bots, superheros, Power Rangers, and baseball. Currently he's spreading the love...baseball and Star Wars are at the top of his list.
2. Another one of his loves is hot chocolate and he asks for it every single afternoon.
3. Stockton is great at being a friend to anyone. One of his traits that I love. He can literally go outside and find any of the neighbor kids, boy or girl, and happily play with them. Even some of those that might be considered "problem kids" by other parents.
4. Over the last year or so, Stockton has become a great eater. Of course, he has his little quirks and things that he just won't try but overall, I have no complaints about his eating habits. He will eat pretty much anything I put in front of him for dinner. His favorite is rice and meat. He tells everyone that is his favorite food when they ask, and he really means it!
5. Does not like to be left upstairs or downstairs by himself. He gets scared. He will usually take Brynn along with him. It's kind of hilarious to think of little Brynn being big brother's protector.
6. He is skinny. He is 48th% for height and 28th% for weight.
7. Unlike my girls, he has never gone through that "I want to be independent" stage. Quite the opposite. I finally had to put my foot down when he turned 5 and told him I was no longer going to dress him. He let me do everything for him, and still would, and I realized that I was enabling him to be that way. Now I try to encourage him to do it on his own and see the confidence that comes from being a bit more self-reliant.
8. He wants to wear a baseball shirt everyday. He will also label his clothes in categories, like golf shirts or a skiing jacket.
9. Loves to watch this Stars Wars video on YouTube from the Piano Guys. He will usually opt for watching it instead of having a book read to him at night. I love the Piano Guys and think the cello is amazing so I don't mind too much.
10. Really likes to color and draw and write notes. This can entertain him for a very long time and his drawings and notes are always the best!
Being Stockton's mom has really taught me a lot. He is such a well-behaved kid in school and church and at grandma's so people have a hard time believing me when I mention that he has been a challenging child for me. We have definitely had to work hard to iron out some kinks-both on his end and mine. But he can be a genuinely sweet boy, stopping often to give me a hug or tell me he loves me or some thing of that sort. He's matured a lot in the last year and I have lately loved watching him figure out new things and have been rewarded often as I see him try hard to make good choices. He is a blessing to our family.
