We always kick-off our Easter festivities at the Cubscout egg hunt. The kids are limited to five eggs but it's a good start for the holiday. They always look forward to it.
Justin's not the cubmaster anymore so this might have been our last one. We might have some sad kids next year.
We decorated eggs on the Friday afternoon before Easter.
I had planned on doing it as soon as Molly got home from school so that Brynn would be napping. But we went to an assembly that afternoon and Brynn fell asleep on me. That meant no nap when we got home. It was a little messier but she had so much fun and I'm glad she had a chance to decorate the eggs with us. Just look at her cute little face and how excited she is.
We had the Easter party at my mom and dad's. The kids hunted for eggs and treats out in the front yard first.
After that they found their bags in the back. They each got a new summer outfit, pajamas, a book, and a toy. It's all quite fun and exciting!
Some of the kids got extra surprises in their eggs.

The kids were excited to wake up and see if the Easter Bunny had come. He did. The kids each got a small basket and he had also left some sidewalk chalk and bubbles for the three of them.
We adopted the tradition that my family had growing up...hunting for little chocolate eggs all over the house. Justin and I have a very strict rule not to help at all (unless they spot an egg and need helping reaching it, of course). It is fun to see how long it takes them to find all of them. Molly found the last egg the Sunday following Easter.
After church we went to dinner at Eric and Heidi's. Grandma April was in Texas helping with new baby Grayson so we missed her but Grandpa and Brett stepped up and provided yet another egg hunt for the kids. It was our kid's fourth hunt but I don't think they were tired of it!
