Two months later, and the kittens are still pampered almost on a daily basis. They are the first thing the girls check on when they get home from school or any other function. They get carried around the house and snuggled. Brynn does her homework with them too!
Neon night for Wasatch football. The cheerleaders had been holding a mini cheer clinic that week and the kids performed for halftime. There were a few kids from our ward who were happy to see Brynn. Even Stockton got in on the fun in the student section that night!

Ivy revisited this diamond painting kit she got sometime last year and was quite focused on finishing it over the span of a couple of days. It will be a great addition to her room's Christmas decor this year!
With the start of school and bedtime routines, I got through the next Nancy Drew book with Ivy a lot quicker! Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew, Scream for Ice Cream. These are pretty simple books for Ivy but she still enjoys them; mostly, she enjoys me reading to her so I will continue as long as she wants!
Gene and April and Brett drove out to watch Molly play a couple of days before her birthday. It was the middle of the week so I was needing to get back home but they stayed and gave her presents and took her out for ice cream. She had given me a list of records she was wanting, I passed them on to April, who ordered them and wrapped them up. They gave her Billy Joel, Abba, and Beatles records and Molly was a happy girl.

JV game at home against Timpview. I rarely pay attention to the actual game, I'm just there for the cheerleaders.

The next night was varsity at Timpview. Go Brynnie!
Molly turned 19 September 15, 2025! Her birthday fell on a Monday but it had been a weekend with a home game so she was able to come home for a couple of days. I had planned her favorite dinner but totally dropped the ball with breakfast and lunch. For some reason I was thinking that, since she was going to be gone on her birthday, I wouldn't be able to make her a breakfast and lunch. Then I woke up on Sunday morning (the day before) and wondered why I hadn't planned to make all the meals that day. Doh! I actually felt so bad and told her I owe her. She was nice about it.
Anyway, she came to church with us and then we had dinner later that afternoon. She wanted yellow curry and I also made homemade garlic naan bread. Best dinner ever. My parents and Chloe came up as well. From them, she got a digital camera and some money with the intent that Molly and my mom would go shopping when she is done with soccer season.

From Justin and I, she got her three favorite treats (Milk Duds, watermelon gum, and orange Twizzlers), a photo printer that connects to her phone, and bluetooth, noise-canceling headphones for long bus rides with the team.

Instead of birthday cake, she wanted pizzookies. So glad we could shower her with some of her favorites that day.
She got up and left early on the day of her birthday so she could make it back for morning practice. I was sad I didn't get to see her that day (other than sending her off in the morning) but her roommates and teammates did a great job spoiling her and decorating her dorm. Also Justin took half the day off, drove to Price, surprised her by showing up at her door, and took her for sushi for a birthday dinner.
I can't believe she is 19. I feel so fortunate to be her mom and she has taught me so much. Specifically, Molly is the most compassionate person I know. She hates to see anyone hurting and desires to ease anyone's pain. She is thoughtful and aware of her friends and others and does her best to fulfill the needs they have. She is accepting of everyone from any background. She has a low tolerance for people who treat others poorly because of their lack of knowledge. Her greatest confusion/frustration comes from how she sees others being treated, especially minority-type people, from the mainstream, privileged public. She has a tender heart. She trusts in God's plan for her and desires to be like Christ in her treatment of others. It's been hard having her away, I feel happy and sad all at once. Happy for the experiences she is having and will have but sad because not everyone is home all the time and I don't like it when we are not all home at the end of the day. We've been able to see a lot of her, between games and her coming home, so that's been a good way to transition slowly into her living away from home.
Ivy has a monthly book report assignment in 5th grade, each month a different genre. The first month was realistic fiction and the assignment was "can a character" where she decorated a can to look like the main character and filled the can with strips of paper describing the book. She was so excited to get it done and handed in that she finished two whole weeks early!

We have a boy in our ward that we have been taking to church with us. Ivy's had him in his school classes through the years and he was baptized last year. The problem is that his parents won't bring him to church but will allow him to go if someone else takes him. So we spent most of winter and spring taking him with us but, once summer came, he wanted to come less and less. We are trying really hard to get him to come back with us. Once Saturday morning, several of the kids from his Primary class went to watch his flag football game. I had Ivy, Lydia, and Kallie with me and they begged for Quench It after the game. I happened to have some gift cards so I was able to get them all a drink for free, yay! They played at our house for a few hours after the game. They are great girls and I was proud of their missionary efforts.

We were able to make a temple/date night with John and Jenny. We recently had a ward boundary change and they got put in a different ward as us. We are so sad about losing everyone, but specifically them.

Molly had two big road trips on back-to-back weekends. The first one included a Wednesday, all-day 16-hour bus ride up to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho for a Thursday morning game, then a Friday bus ride to Kennewick, Washington for a Saturday game, then a late-afternoon/evening/nighttime bus ride to Ogden, then a Sunday morning drive back to Price. The next week was a little less but still a lot of driving time. They left Wednesday to travel to Reno, Nevada for a Thursday game, then traveled to Twin Falls, Idaho on Friday for a Saturday game, then drove the rest of the way back to Price Saturday night. Phew! They have a big, nice bus but they travel with the boy's team so there are a lot of people on the bus! And they are on the bus for long, long hours. Molly sent us this picture and told us that they take turns laying out on the floor of the bus just for a chance to stretch their legs! By the end of the second trip, Molly had officially become the bus deejay which is not really a surprise to us at all.
I was sad to miss Justin's work seminar this year. I genuinely enjoy going with him, taking the classes, and relaxing in the hotel room. But the schedule at home didn't allow me to get away this time. Justin and his classmates were recognized as this year's graduates from the credit union program/school, a well-deserved recognition!

Homecoming was a fun weekend at our house, with both Stockton and Brynn participating in some way. First up was the parade Friday afternoon. Ivy really wanted to go so I checked her out of school and we went to see both kids in the parade with their teams. Unfortunately, we picked the wrong side of the street to see Stockton: we didn't see him, he didn't see us. But we did see Brynn so it wasn't a complete bust!

The football game was that night. It was a pretty night. My mom and dad came up to watch Brynn. Ivy came. Justin came, obviously. Stockton was somewhere in the crowd with his friends. I finally figured out maybe the best place to be able to see Brynn. Still tricky with a lot of people walking in front but it was the best so far. |

Brynn planned a Homecoming day with some really cute friends. They went to the trampoline park and Chick-fil-a in the daytime. They came back to our house to get ready. Brynn had set up her room so that everyone had a chair, little table, and mirror in front of them. They were so excited to be getting ready together!

One of the other moms has a nice camera so she took some pictures of the girls. They coordinated their dress colors just for pictures. They truly enjoyed being together and were just so full of excitement for the day. It was fun to see. |

After pictures, they went to Ari's house for a bit and then got a ride in their party bus to the dance. Brynn had a lot of fun at the dance and was able to hang out at Aviana's house after the dance for another hour. |

Stockton went with Hayley Rose from our ward. He was looking forward to going with a friend and having it be more casual. They went bowling for their day date, ate dinner at the Jones's house, had a good time at the dance, and came to our house to hang out after. They had some photos taken but I never got them...Stockton said the lighting was bad so the quality was not great. Good thing I got this one and only from Hayley's mom!
Ivy had her Primary program and both sets of grandparents drove up to watch her. We are happy she still has one more year in Primary! |

Brynn was performing at the Wasatch marching band fundraiser night. Molly was home for an extended weekend and was happy she got to watch Brynn one time this fall. The boys were off doing baseball things so it was a girl's night watching Brynnie.
Stockton played fall ball in the UVU baseball league. It's so fun for the boys to play under the lights on that nice field. He has to be there early to warm-up so whoever takes him has to kill a little time before the game starts. Justin and I decided to get a Krispy Kreme one time (I'd never had one) and ended up scoring a box of three for free! And here is random picture of Brynn cheering. I don't know what game it was-Justin's co-worker took it and sent it to him later and I wanted it documented here.
