As a Stake Young Women's Presidency, we were doing some serious preparation for Stake Girl's Camp. We had a camp director and stake specialists to do most of the work but we were helping where we could...for me, that meant taking a Sunday afternoon and making 60 breakfast burritos to put in the freezer. Brynn and Ivy were super helpers prepping eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns with me and then I made the whole family help assemble, roll the tortillas, and wrap in foil. It took about 2.5 hours start to finish-not bad and way better than doing all that work at camp! (I was too busy to stop for a photo so I stole this one from Molly's BeReal.)

Brynn and Ivy wanted to sleep in the tent but they will only sleep outside if Molly or Stockton are with them, which they weren't that night. So we set it up in the living room and they slept there for two nights.

Molly still works on the train but she picked up a second job back in April for the summer. My hope is she'll save a lot of money! She is working at Country Gardens and seems to like it. She loves being outside and a couple of her friends are working there as well. It is a good fit for her a few times a week. We finally went to visit her and picked out some flowers...yay for employee discounts!

Ever heard of a candy salad? Ivy has! She saw when Brynn's cheer team did a candy salad as part of their end-of-year celebration and she wanted to try it at home. I took her to the dollar store and let her pick a different candy for each member of our family...then she came home, mixed them all together, and...voila!...candy salad! She shared with everyone by dividing it into six baggies and labeling them with names.

Molly and Ivy were home one day on their own. Justin was at work, Stockton at teacher's quorum camp, and Brynn and me in St. George. Molly had to go to work so I had arranged for Ivy to go to Hannah Reynold's house for the afternoon. Molly dropped her off on her way to work but not before stopping and getting her lunch at Wendy's!

Stockton went on his teacher's quorum camp to Goblin Valley. They spent three days + two nights camping, hiking, exploring, etc. and they had a blast. Stockton would do this every week if he could and he genuinely enjoys being with his quorum and leaders. I am grateful for experiences like this.

Brynn and I were in St. George with my mom, Erin, and Harper. This was for Brynn and Harper's 12th birthday-Brynn turned 12 last year and Harper turns 12 this summer and we figured they would have a much better time celebrating together. And they did! We left Wednesday morning and stopped at the Beaver Creamery for lunch where the girls worked on synchronizing their back tucks. They never managed to get the timing just right but they gathered an audience of impressed spectators, haha. It was blisteringly hot that week in St. George so a lot of time was spent in the pool. They swam for a couple of hours as soon as we got there.
That night was our Tuacahn night. We saw Frozen (in 100 degree weather). It was excellent, as everything there always is. The girls really loved it, especially the magical if-you-blinked-you-missed-it costume change by Elsa and the fireworks.

We had the whole next day open so we let the girls plan exactly what they wanted to do. It went like this: shopping, pedicures, trampoline park, slushies, then swimming for the rest of the day. They took a break for dinner and then swam until it got dark and the pool closed. They tried to watch a movie that night but were too tired and had to turn it off and finish in the morning.

We traveled home on Friday. My mom had tried to get baptism appointments for either St. George temple but they were both booked...so we ended up making a stop at the Cedar City Temple on our way home and the girls were able to do baptisms there. It was not crowded and a great morning. We were the only ones in the temple that morning and the workers were so happy to have us there.

On June 6, 2024, our extended Goodrich family grew by one sweet baby girl. Matt and Camille had a beautiful daughter, Avery Camille Tanner (after their four boys!!). We hate that they are so far away and don't know when we will actually get to meet Avery in person so pictures will have to do for now.Heber Stake Girls Camp 2024-
We had stake camp this year at the Heber Valley Camp. The facilities are heaven there! I got put in the stake YW Presidency last fall so I was going as a stake leader. Molly was going as a YCL, Brynn as a Young Woman, and Justin was going as bishop! So it was a family event with 2/3rds of us there that week. It was a great week and a wildly successful camp. Here is my photo dump, with explanations as needed-
The YCL's were troopers. They did an amazing job at leading out on every aspect of camp. They were at camp bright and early Monday morning to greet all the other campers as they arrived.

Monday's craft was lantern-making. They could paint them or use tissue paper and mod-podge to decorate them. I was amazed at their creativity! We used the lanterns on the faith walk Wednesday night.

Monday night was lip-sync night. I loved this format over the traditional skits. Each ward had a song assigned to them and they had to come up with a lip-sync routine. It was so fun! Justin rode the unicycle with Brynn on his shoulders as part of our ward's routine. I was with the stake leaders and Molly had to go twice: with the YCL's and with our ward.

Tuesday was lake day and I got to slip away from stake duties and go with our ward. We lucked out with beautiful weather the entire week and the lake is so picturesque. The girls could canoe, kayak, or paddle boat and there were lots of water fights out there on the lake. I went with Justin and he out-paddled all the girls who were trying to soak him so we stayed dry.

Our ward also did the challenge course that day but I didn't go with them. They had a rock-climbing wall and several teamwork challenges.

These are just the things I have photos of but it really was a great week with a combination of fun and testimony-building activities. The campsite was beautiful. I appreciated being with Justin and two of my girls. I enjoyed time with my ward and also with stake leaders-familiar leaders and new sisters that I was able to get to know.
What did Stockton and Ivy do while we were at camp? It actually worked out super well-Stockton went to FSY for the week and Ivy went to Plain City. I picked Ivy up on Thursday after camp. She had had a great time with cousins and grandparents. They celebrated Lucy's birthday, did a lot of swimming, and had sleepovers every night. I'm positive that Ivy was spoiled by her grandparents.

Stockton went to FSY with Sam Freeman. They have been friends since 3rd grade but they haven't really been hanging out since probably last fall. So I was a little worried that it wouldn't be great on the roommate end but Stockton assured me repeatedly that it would be fine. And it was. He had a really great time. He said by Wednesday, his group had really jelled and they were the best of friends. He enjoyed the classes he took and told me a little about the things he learned. He told me that Molly had told him he would feel the Spirit but that he was surprised at how much and how strongly that happened. He really loved his week there!

Free Frazil Friday is something we all look forward to. We took advantage of every Free Frazil Friday in June...which was 5 Fridays this year!

Ivy came home from her week at Grandma's obsessed with "make-it minis" and was dying to buy some for herself. (Lucy had got some for her birthday so that's how Ivy was introduced to them.) I tried to put her off thinking that she would forget about them, but she was persistent. She had money in her account that she had earned from chores so I let her get a set. When they came, she thought she would put them together slowly...like one each day...but they were too fun and she put them all together in one afternoon. They ended up being super cute.

Ivy wanted to go to a movie so Justin and I took her to Inside Out 2 one night. We would have taken the other kids but they were with friends so it was just the three of us and we had a great time!.JPG)

*I gave Ivy my Girl's Camp fanny pack and it made her day. She carries it everywhere and I love seeing what treasures she keeps in it.
Molly got home from Girl's Camp and left the very next day for Bear Lake. It was Chloe's birthday weekend and that's what she wanted to do. Molly took Jackie with her and I felt better about her driving up with a friend rather than on her own. She spent the entire weekend there, until Monday, and they had fun on the beach, getting shakes, and hanging out at the cabin.

A lesson in tying ties? Justin and Stockton are both very proficient at tying their church ties, I think they were comparing notes here.

Father's Day-
For Father's Day breakfast Justin wanted a breakfast casserole so he got one. Also his favorite treats from the kids and I framed a picture of him and the kids from last years' Father's Day (tradition). We went to church together and came home together. We (he) had a relaxing afternoon and we kept dinner simple by taking a picnic down Provo Canyon. I had chicken (ordered and picked up the night before and reheated that afternoon), watermelon, homemade rolls, and the BEST rice krispie treats. I think something else but I can't remember. We ate and explored the canyon for a little while before going home. We missed Molly who was still in Bear Lake.

Ivy wanted to go to the skate park and I thought it would be more successful with a friend. Kallie just moved into our ward so we invited her and the two of them hit it off. Instant friends! Ivy wanted to roller blade and we had an extra pair for Kallie so they mostly did that. Kallie had never done it but she was a fan and got better and better while we were there. They came to our house after the skate park and were able to extend their playdate for another couple of hours.

Took Molly on her date. She picked Indian food which I will never say no to. Yum!
Next up for Ivy was another solo date with Mom and Dad for Aggie Ice Cream. Enjoy a series of silly pictures...Justin is a goofball for pictures more often than not.

We got the pool set up but were slow to fill it with water. First obstacle was the rip on one side...last year on the day we were taking the pool down, I was mowing the lawn and a rock flipped up and made a fairly large tear on one side. So we had to figure out what would work to patch that hole. Second, we wanted to see if we could make it more comfortable, ie: warmer, for the kids. We have an outdoor hot water spigot on that side of our house so we filled the entire thing with that. It took some time because we had to do it in 30 minute increments...on for 30 minutes, off for 30 minutes...so we still had warm water in the house for necessary things like dishes and showers. But it worked and it was really warm for the first week and half or so! I made it a goal to try to take a picture of all the swim days. I missed a few here and there but got a lot. Here's the first one...Brynn's friends...and Ivy is always the little tag-along. |

Moyes family girls day/night to celebrate Ali's 40th birthday. My mom booked a condo in Midway so they came to my neck of the woods. They had never seen Bridal Veil Falls so that was an easy walk/quick activity the we were able to squeeze in after a dinner at Lola's. We went to the hot tub that night but it was too hot so most of us put our feet in the pool and that felt good. |

Molly and Ivy were solo at home that night so, being the awesome big sister that she is, Molly took Ivy for snow cones. This was extra good because Ivy was extra sad that I left her again after St. George and Girl' Camp and I was feeling extra bad about that.

The next day we girls ate Bagel Den for breakfast, found a walking path in Park City, and then spent the afternoon shopping at the outlets. Since my mom had been gone for all the birthdays this past year, she gave each of us some spending money which was super nice.

Swim afternoon with Brynn and Ivy, June 25 (Stockton's birthday afternoon). We figured out how to repair the tear and the water level was creeping higher. And it was WARM so they stayed in for a long time. Late-night swim for Molly, June 25 (Stockton's birthday night). She had gone on a run and jumped in with her running clothes on. Stockton's friends had gotten out by then so she had the pool to herself and that was relaxing.
Swim day for Kallie and Ivy, June 26. They had played for a couple of hours at Kallie's house and then came over to our house so they could swim.

Ivy got another swim date the very next day. Swim day for Ivy, Hannah, and Raina, June 27. The rule around our house is: finish chores=friends so Ivy had been motivated for two days in a row! (This kind of motivation does not happen everyday with that girl.)

We keep the pool closed on Sundays but it is too tempting sometimes. It is not a rare occasion to have Brynn or Ivy or both put their feet in on Sunday afternoons...and "fall" in with their clothes on. Happy Sunday {summer} afternoons!
