Christmas Eve was in Plain City this year. We were actually unsure whether we were going to make it at all...the forecast showed that there was a chance of a snowstorm that would go through right when we would be driving and we (okay, I) really, really don't like driving in the snow. Especially now that we have to go through a canyon regardless of which way we take. We watched the forecast closely and decided that it would be okay to go and that we just wouldn't stay super late since we didn't want to hit anything on the way home.
We played games while we waited for dinner to be ready. I did Christmas Bingo.
This is Brynn getting blindfolded for the "ho-ho-ho" game. (Everyone sits in a circle with one person in the middle who is blindfolded. The person who is it goes around and tries to tap someone with a wooden spoon. That person then has to say "ho-ho-ho" and the person who is it has to guess who said it. So you want to disguise your voice. Our family usually plays the "oink-piggy-oink" version-where you oink like a pig.) This was a big hit!
This was a Minute-to-Win-It game involving candy canes. They were supposed to see how many they could hook together without using their hands.
After the games, we did the cousin gift exchange. Ivy got this cute giraffe that sings lullabies.
Brynn got stamps and lip gloss.
Stockton got a Phlat Ball-throw it when it's shaped like a frisbee and mid-air it will change into a ball.
Molly got Guess Who.

After dinner we did the nativity. Brynn was a shepherd with Tessa. Harper was their lamb.
Molly was an angel with Chloe and Abby.

Stockton was a wise man with Grant and Gavin.

We took off after that. Everyone was anxious to get home and in bed so Santa could come!
Santa did come. The peace before the chaos. I should have moved those other baby toys that are up against the wall, behind Ivy's pile. It makes it look like she got way more than everyone else.
Santa brings each kid a couple of gifts, one big, one little, or two medium-sized. He did a pretty good job this year.
Molly got an action camera and the sweater she wanted. We haven't used the camera a lot yet because we haven't really been doing anything fun outside that we could use it for. But it can clip onto her helmet, it's waterproof, and it has a whole bunch of other cool features we will experiment with once it warms up.
In her stocking she got some treats, a beanie boo, a pet net for all her beanie boos, a sign for her room that says "happy girls are the prettiest," the Cinderella movie, a Rubix cube, and an ornament.
Stockton got a basketball hoop for his door and a 49ers helmet and jersey.
In his stocking he got treats, a Jazz bear beanie boo, a Braves sign for his room, the Minions movie, some compression undershirts (he doesn't like wearing short sleeves to school), an ornament, and a Braves bracelet.
Brynn got a karaoke machine and a Tinkerbell doll.
In her stocking she got a Tinkerbell nightgown, some little Disney fairies (she calls them her trophies), a CD for her karaoke machine, some treats, an ornament, the movie Aladdin, and a beanie boo.
Ivy got a push car and an Anna doll.
In her stocking she got some baby food, some cups/bowls for snacks, some shoes, name blocks for her room, Little People princesses, princess board books, and an ornament.
Time for breakfast! We had an egg casserole, cinnamon rolls, hot chocolate with whipped cream, eggnog, bananas, oranges, bacon, and milk.
After breakfast we went back for more presents. Each kid had two presents under the tree...one from mom and dad and one from their siblings. Molly got a hammock and some cute sweats.
This is the first year she has even been gifted clothes from us. She also didn't get any toys. We are entering a new stage!
Stockton got a BB gun and a flat-brimmed 49ers hat. He requested a flat-brimmed hat specifically. I think he looks so cute wearing it!
Justin has been saving pop cans for spring when Stocky can go out in the pasture and shoot them with his gun.
Brynn got a new tumbling outfit and a canopy for her room. We practically stole the canopy last summer-we found it for $30 but it's on Amazon today for $250. This is not a joke.
Ivy got a shape sorter and the Fisher Price Little People nativity.
The nativity is something I've been wanted to get for a very long time and I'm super excited that we finally did. It got packed up with the Christmas stuff but it will be a fun new thing to pull out next year.
The kids and I gave Justin a fit-bit, a Braves T-shirt, and a photo calendar for his office.
I got some earrings, The Book of Mormon Made Easier, and some stuff for the house (welcome mat, rugs, towels).
Later that afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa Goodrich and Brett came.
I remember when I was a little girl and I loved to show my grandparents each and every thing that I got for Christmas. Now my kids are the same and it's so fun.
From Grandma and Grandpa, Molly got a set of Nancy Drew books and a bulletin board for her room.
Stockton got a boogie board and a new baseball mitt.
Brynn got a rainbow in my room nightlight and a Lite-Brite.
Ivy got a Beatbot.
Justin got a chainsaw and I got some serving platters since I now have space to store things like that!
We had fun with them for a little bit and then we just spent the rest of the day relaxing at home. We watched some of the kids' new movies, played Yahtzee (which Santa also left for our family), and I was relieved that I had planned a dinner that I just had to pull out of the freezer.

It was a very merry, happy Christmas for us. It was our best Christmas because Ivy was with us this year.
Grandma and Grandpa Moyes decided to come the day after Christmas so they could spend more time with us. It was a frenzy as all the kids crowded around them to show them all the fun things from the day before.
From Grandma and Grandpa, Molly got some clothes, some room pockets that she decorated, and an electric scooter.
Stockton got some clothes, a spy kit, and an electric scooter.
We've been out a little bit on these but are excited to really put them to use. Molly caught on quick, Stockton is still slightly nervous to ride his.
Brynn got clothes, Lambie (from Doc McStuffins), and a playhouse.
Ivy got clothes, a stuffed lamb, a quilt sewn by grandma, and the playhouse was for her as well.
Justin got a dutch oven set, I got some clothes, and they also gave us some beautiful bar stools.
My mom and dad stayed for a few hours and we enjoyed having them. And then, just like that, Christmas was over.
